Semrush Brings Live Marketing Data Into Claude

Semrush has launched an official connector for Anthropic’s Claude, allowing marketers to access the company’s search and market intelligence directly within AI conversations without manually exporting data or relying on developer support.

The integration is available natively within Claude’s connector ecosystem and enables Semrush customers to connect their accounts to the AI assistant. It marks Semrush’s third Model Context Protocol, or MCP, integration with a major large language model platform.

Once connected, marketers can use natural-language prompts in Claude to access live Semrush data for tasks including keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink audits and market research. The integration is designed to reduce the need to move information manually between marketing platforms and generative AI tools.

For keyword strategy, users can query Semrush data directly rather than exporting information from Keyword Magic Tool and uploading files into Claude. Backlink audits can generate classified lists of potentially toxic links, disavow files and prioritised action plans within the conversation. Competitor gap analysis can similarly produce content briefs using the retrieved data.

The connector also supports broader market research. Semrush said marketers can retrieve information covering channel performance, audience demographics and changes in market share through conversational prompts, bringing datasets that would traditionally require analysis across multiple interfaces into a single workflow.

The integration connects Claude with Semrush’s dataset, which the company says includes 28.8 billion keywords, 43 trillion backlinks and 317 million LLM prompts. Semrush is positioning the combination of proprietary marketing data and AI reasoning as a way for teams to work across both traditional search engine optimisation and emerging AI visibility requirements.

Vitalii Obischenko, VP, Software Development at Semrush, said the connector is intended to allow marketing and SEO teams to develop brand visibility strategies within Claude while using Semrush’s search intelligence as the underlying data layer.

The integration can also support recurring workflows through Claude Cowork. Semrush highlighted use cases including monthly client reporting, weekly toxic-link alerts and daily monitoring of competitor rankings, which can be configured to run without repeated manual intervention.

The launch comes as marketing technology providers increasingly integrate their data and tools directly into AI assistants. Semrush already supports MCP connections with platforms including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other compatible AI environments, allowing users to retrieve SEO, website traffic, market and project data depending on their subscriptions.

The official Semrush connector for Claude is available to subscribers of Semrush One and SEO Classic plans.
