Meta is expanding its subscription business with Meta One, placing higher AI usage and a range of marketing, analytics and customer engagement tools behind paid plans across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI.
The subscription service is being rolled out globally with plans for individuals, AI power users, creators and businesses. Meta said more than 50 features have been introduced across the offering, while its core apps and everyday use of Meta AI will continue to remain free.
For creators and businesses, Meta One extends beyond additional content creation features. Paid tiers include enhanced profiles, publishing tools, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights and features designed to help accounts convert engagement into followers and website traffic. Advanced plans also offer scheduling capabilities and allow team members to access accounts without sharing passwords.
AI is becoming a larger part of the subscription proposition. Meta One's Core and Premium plans provide higher usage of compute-intensive AI features, including image creation and editing, video generation powered by Meta's Muse models and tools such as Restyle on Instagram.
For businesses, Meta is also expanding access to Meta Business Agent, an AI-powered customer service tool designed to respond to customers on a company's behalf. Higher subscription tiers provide greater access to the agent, while Meta plans to add capabilities covering marketing, business operations, content creation and optimisation.
Creators are also expected to receive Edits Plus as part of Meta One. The upcoming offering will include additional cloud storage and increased access to an AI assistant that can analyse Instagram insights and help users generate content ideas.
Meta said its subscription plans have recorded 15 million subscriptions and trials to date. The company is gradually expanding the service and plans to extend Meta One to additional products, including Edits and its AI glasses.
Globally, individual app subscriptions start at $2.99 per month, while Meta One Core starts at $7.99 and Premium at $19.99 per month. Creator and business bundles begin at $14.99 per month, with higher professional tiers offering additional marketing and AI capabilities. Pricing and features can vary by market and account.
The rollout expands Meta's subscription strategy beyond social media customisation and verification. By adding AI generation, analytics, publishing and customer engagement tools, the company is positioning paid subscriptions as an additional layer for users and businesses seeking capabilities beyond the standard experience available across its platforms.
