AI marketing platform Jasper has strengthened its executive leadership team, promoting Tom Newton to Chief Marketing Officer and appointing Lauren Newman as Chief Financial Officer as the company expands its focus on enterprise AI marketing.
The appointments, announced on August 3, come as Jasper looks to move beyond standalone AI content generation towards tools that integrate artificial intelligence more deeply into marketing workflows, governance and execution.
Newton joined Jasper as Vice President of Marketing in 2024 and has spent the past two years helping reposition the company’s brand and go-to-market strategy around enterprise customers. As CMO, his responsibilities will expand across global brand strategy, demand generation, product marketing and revenue alignment.
Before joining Jasper, Newton held marketing leadership positions at Toast, Knowde, Zendesk and Intercom, giving him experience across enterprise software and high-growth technology businesses.
His appointment comes as Jasper increases its focus on marketing teams seeking to move generative AI from individual experimentation into structured enterprise workflows.
The company says nearly 20% of Fortune 500 companies are among its customers. Its enterprise customer base also includes companies such as Prudential and Cushman & Wakefield.
Newman joins Jasper after most recently leading global finance at cloud communications company Aircall. Before that, she served as CFO of healthcare revenue cycle management company Acclara, where she oversaw financial, legal and compliance work related to its acquisition by R1 RCM in 2024. The transaction was valued at approximately $1 billion.
Earlier in her career, Newman spent seven years at Microsoft, eventually serving as Worldwide Controller for its Office Consumer business, which at the time generated $4.5 billion in annual revenue.
Her appointment adds enterprise finance and compliance experience to Jasper’s leadership team at a time when AI vendors are increasingly targeting larger organisations with longer procurement cycles and requirements around security, governance and financial stability.
The leadership changes coincide with Jasper’s expansion into AI agents for marketing.
The company recently introduced GEO Agent, an autonomous agent designed to monitor how brands appear in AI-generated answers and turn visibility insights into actions that marketing teams can use. Jasper is positioning GEO Agent as the first in a planned series of role-based agents.
The approach reflects changes taking place across digital marketing as discovery increasingly extends beyond traditional search engines into AI-generated responses.
Jasper has also been developing resources around generative engine optimisation, or GEO, as marketers consider how their brands appear across AI-powered search and answer platforms. Newton has recently written about how brands can strengthen authority and visibility across AI search.
Jasper’s broader strategy is centred on bringing AI into recurring marketing processes while maintaining controls around brand voice, compliance and governance. Its agent roadmap is intended to automate specific marketing functions rather than positioning AI solely as a content-generation assistant.
The dual appointments therefore arrive as Jasper enters a different stage of the enterprise AI market. As businesses move from testing generative AI towards integrating it into production workflows, vendors are increasingly being evaluated on governance, operational integration and measurable business outcomes alongside model capabilities.
For Jasper, Newton and Newman will now oversee key marketing and financial functions as the company seeks to expand its enterprise footprint and develop its next generation of AI marketing products.
