Adobe has launched a unified plugin for ChatGPT that brings more than 70 creative and productivity tools into the AI platform, expanding the integration of applications including Photoshop, Acrobat, Premiere, Illustrator, Lightroom, Firefly and Adobe Express.
The new integration consolidates Adobe’s previously separate ChatGPT connections into a single plugin, allowing users to access different tools through conversational prompts without having to switch between individual Adobe applications or integrations.
Users can invoke Adobe within ChatGPT and describe the task they want to complete. The plugin is designed to identify and coordinate the relevant Adobe tools behind the scenes, depending on the requested workflow.
The integration covers a range of creative and productivity tasks, including image editing, video creation, graphic design, PDF management and document workflows. Users can perform tasks such as editing photos, creating visual assets, adapting videos for different formats and working with PDFs through natural-language instructions.
Adobe’s move builds on its existing integrations with ChatGPT. The company previously introduced individual connections for Photoshop, Adobe Express and Acrobat, giving users access to selected editing, design and document capabilities directly within the conversational AI platform.
Photoshop for ChatGPT, for instance, already allows users to add, remove or replace elements in images, generate or change backgrounds, edit specific objects and adjust lighting and colour through text prompts. Acrobat’s integration enables users to create, edit, organise, merge and extract information from PDF documents.
The unified plugin expands this model by bringing a broader selection of Adobe applications and tools under one interface. This includes capabilities from Premiere for video workflows, Lightroom for photography, Illustrator and InDesign for design, Adobe Stock for creative assets and Firefly for generative AI.
The launch reflects a wider shift in software interfaces as technology companies bring established productivity tools into conversational AI environments. Rather than requiring users to navigate individual applications for every task, AI assistants are increasingly being positioned as a starting point for coordinating workflows across multiple services.
Adobe, however, continues to position the ChatGPT integration as complementary to its professional applications rather than a replacement for them. Complex and precision-focused creative work can still be moved into Adobe’s dedicated applications for further editing and control.
The plugin also supports workflows involving multiple files. Users can apply edits and perform creative tasks through a conversation, while Adobe account holders can access additional capabilities and Creative Cloud storage. Guest access is also available for some functionality.
The integration arrives as Adobe expands conversational AI across its own product portfolio. The company has introduced AI assistants and generative capabilities across applications such as Photoshop, Acrobat and Express, while also taking its tools into third-party AI platforms.
For marketers and creative teams, the unified approach could reduce the number of steps involved in routine production workflows, particularly when adapting content across images, video, design and documents.
Adobe is also looking beyond ChatGPT as it broadens access to its technology through AI platforms. The company plans integrations with other AI services as conversational interfaces become a larger part of how users access creative and productivity software.
The unified Adobe plugin is available globally through ChatGPT, extending the company’s strategy of making its creative tools accessible through both dedicated applications and conversational AI workflows.
