Agentic AI-powered procurement platform Procol has appointed Shaivya Gupta as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), strengthening its leadership team as the company accelerates its global expansion plans and scales its AI-driven procurement platform across international markets.
In his new role, Gupta will lead Procol's global marketing, brand and communications strategy, with a mandate to strengthen the company's market positioning, build category leadership in AI-powered procurement and support expansion into strategic markets, including the United States.
The appointment comes at a time when Procol is positioning itself as an enterprise technology company focused on transforming procurement and finance through agentic AI. The company has evolved from its origins as an e-auction platform into a source-to-pay platform that uses AI agents to automate procurement workflows, supplier management, sourcing and spend analytics.
According to the company, Procol has recorded five-fold growth over the past two years and is targeting 300% growth over the next year. The expansion strategy is expected to be supported through continued investments in technology, customer success, partnerships and international market development.
Commenting on his appointment, Gupta said enterprise procurement is undergoing a structural transformation as AI moves the function beyond transactional operations towards strategic business decision-making. He noted that AI-powered procurement enables organisations to make faster, more intelligent and data-driven decisions, adding that his immediate priorities include strengthening Procol's market presence, deepening engagement with enterprise leaders and positioning the company at the forefront of AI-powered procurement in India and overseas markets.
As CMO, Gupta will oversee customer engagement, brand-building initiatives and demand generation while expanding Procol's visibility across enterprise segments. His responsibilities will also include shaping the company's category narrative as demand grows for AI-native procurement solutions that combine automation with decision intelligence.
The leadership appointment aligns with Procol's broader business strategy as enterprises increasingly adopt agentic AI to automate sourcing, procurement and supplier management. The company's platform offers AI agents that automate multiple stages of the procurement lifecycle, including demand intake, sourcing, supplier onboarding, spend analytics and invoice resolution, while maintaining human oversight for critical decisions.
Procol says it currently serves more than 200 enterprise customers across 10 countries and manages over $30 billion in enterprise spend through its platform. Its customer base spans industries including manufacturing, retail, construction, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods and financial services. The company has also received recognition from organisations including Gartner, G2 and Everest Group for its procurement technology capabilities.
Founded in 2018, Procol has transitioned from a procurement software startup into an AI-native enterprise platform focused on automating the source-to-pay process. Its product portfolio includes autonomous sourcing, supplier operations, procurement orchestration and spend intelligence, supported by its AI procurement assistant, Clara.
The appointment reflects a broader trend across enterprise software companies, where marketing leadership is increasingly being aligned with global expansion and category creation as AI platforms move beyond product adoption towards shaping emerging enterprise technology segments. With Gupta taking charge of its marketing function, Procol aims to strengthen its brand presence while expanding the adoption of its agentic AI procurement platform in India and international markets.
