Kim De Maeseneer, Chief AI Officer, Cegeka

European IT services company Cegeka has appointed Kim De Maeseneer as its Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, creating a new position on its Executive Committee to oversee the development of AI services, client solutions and the company's internal adoption of artificial intelligence.

The appointment, announced on October 20, 2026, forms part of Cegeka's efforts to strengthen its AI capabilities and integrate the technology more closely into its business strategy and client offerings.

In her new role, De Maeseneer will be responsible for expanding Cegeka's AI portfolio and translating its technology expertise and industry knowledge into services designed to address business requirements across different sectors.

Her responsibilities will include identifying commercial applications of AI, supporting enterprise transformation initiatives and promoting the safe and responsible use of the technology.

De Maeseneer joins Cegeka after spending 27 years at Accenture, where she held leadership responsibilities across European markets. Her experience includes working with businesses in the automotive, industrial, retail, consumer goods and pharmaceutical sectors.

During her tenure at Accenture, she was involved in industry-focused transformation initiatives, helping organisations evaluate technology investments and develop strategies for business growth.

Commenting on her appointment, De Maeseneer said businesses were increasingly looking beyond productivity improvements when evaluating AI investments.

“AI is fundamentally changing what customers expect, and the opportunity is much bigger than simply doing what we already do, only faster or cheaper,” she said.

She added that companies would need to identify where AI could deliver measurable results within their respective industries and establish the capabilities required to implement those applications at scale.

According to Cegeka, the appointment also reflects changing discussions around artificial intelligence at the senior management level, with organisations increasingly considering AI as part of broader business transformation strategies.

Koen Deryckere, Chief Executive Officer of Cegeka, said the creation of the position responds to growing demand among clients for integrated AI strategies.

“AI is now a board-level topic for most of our clients,” Deryckere said.

He added that De Maeseneer's experience in advising executive teams on technology investments and business transformation would support the company's efforts to develop AI-led services.

Beyond client-facing operations, De Maeseneer will oversee AI initiatives within Cegeka, including the development of new service offerings and the adoption of AI tools across the organisation.

The company said a group-level leadership position was necessary to coordinate these initiatives and align AI development with its wider business priorities.

Headquartered in Belgium, Cegeka employs more than 9,000 people globally and provides IT services and technology solutions to enterprise customers.

De Maeseneer will be based in Belgium.

The appointment establishes a dedicated executive role for managing Cegeka's AI strategy across its internal operations and client services. The company has not disclosed specific investment commitments or financial targets associated with the new position.
