Hyperlocal commerce platform magicpin has expanded its artificial intelligence powered merchant assistant, Vera, to six international markets, marking the company's latest move to scale its AI offerings beyond India. The rollout covers the United States, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates, as magicpin looks to strengthen its presence in global merchant technology.
Originally launched in India in April this year, Vera was developed to help restaurants and retailers make better operational decisions through AI-generated insights. The assistant provides merchants with real time information on order volumes, enabling businesses to forecast demand, optimize staffing, manage inventory and respond more effectively to fluctuations in customer activity.
According to magicpin, Vera currently supports merchants across more than 25 business categories, including restaurants, retail, grocery, beauty, healthcare and education. The company said the platform is designed to simplify day-to-day merchant operations while helping businesses improve customer engagement through AI-driven recommendations and workflows.
The international rollout follows encouraging early adoption during Vera's pilot phase. magicpin said the AI assistant facilitated more than 82,000 AI-powered interactions during trials across overseas markets, indicating growing demand for AI-enabled merchant support tools outside India. The company has now set a target of crossing five lakh AI-powered interactions across international markets by the end of 2026. These figures are company targets and projections.
Commenting on the expansion, magicpin Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Anshoo Sharma said the company views the international launch as the beginning of its global AI strategy. He said magicpin plans to introduce Vera in additional countries while continuing investments in multilingual capabilities, region-specific intelligence and AI-powered merchant workflows to better serve businesses across different markets.
The company has committed an investment of $1 million towards building its AI technology stack, with Vera serving as a key component of that strategy. Since its launch in India, the platform has seen rapid adoption among merchants, with magicpin previously reporting that Vera had onboarded more than five lakh restaurants and retailers and facilitated over 50 lakh AI-powered interactions across merchant workflows.
magicpin said the Middle East has emerged as one of the fastest-growing regions for Vera's international deployment. While the company did not disclose merchant numbers or revenue generated from overseas markets, it indicated that additional country launches are planned over the coming months as part of its broader international expansion strategy.
The launch reflects a broader trend across the retail technology sector, where companies are increasingly integrating AI assistants into merchant operations rather than limiting AI applications to customer-facing services. AI-powered tools are being adopted to automate routine tasks, improve operational planning and provide businesses with real time insights that can support faster decision making.
For magicpin, the overseas rollout of Vera represents an expansion of its AI-led commerce strategy as the company seeks to extend its merchant technology platform beyond the domestic market. With further investments planned in AI capabilities and regional customization, the company aims to position Vera as a scalable enterprise assistant for merchants operating across multiple geographies.
