TCS and Google Cloud Launch Gemini Experience Center

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Google Cloud have launched a new Gemini Experience Center in Kolkata, expanding their collaboration to help consumer businesses design, test and deploy agentic artificial intelligence solutions. The facility is aimed at enabling enterprises to co-create AI-powered applications tailored to the needs of retail, consumer packaged goods, and travel, tourism and hospitality sectors.

The Kolkata center is dedicated to TCS' Consumer Business Group (CBG) and is built on Google Cloud infrastructure using Google's Gemini models. It is the third Gemini Experience Center established by TCS in India, following similar facilities focused on retail in Chennai and banking, financial services and insurance in Bengaluru. Globally, it is the company's eighth Gemini Experience Center, with plans to expand the network to 10 by the end of 2026, including four in India.

According to TCS, the new facility has been designed as an innovation hub where enterprises can explore AI use cases through immersive demonstrations, workshops and collaborative solution development. The center will showcase industry-specific applications powered by agentic AI, a technology that enables AI systems to independently plan, reason and execute tasks while working alongside human users.

The company said the center reflects a shift in enterprise AI adoption, with businesses moving beyond experimentation toward production-grade deployments. Through its Human+AI Autonomy framework, TCS aims to help organizations integrate AI into customer engagement, commerce, operations and decision-making processes. The initiative combines TCS' industry expertise with Google Cloud's AI capabilities to accelerate enterprise transformation.

The Kolkata Experience Center features AI-enabled solutions across multiple business functions. For store operations, enterprises can explore applications including planogram optimization, frontline knowledge assistants, warehouse receiving and asset maintenance support. In supply chain management, the facility demonstrates capabilities such as cognitive visual receiving, supplier onboarding, intelligent contract management and automated invoice processing. It also includes AI applications for merchandising, product enrichment, hybrid search and agentic commerce to strengthen omnichannel retail operations.

TCS said it has already developed more than 3,000 industry and context-aware AI agents using Gemini Enterprise. These agents are designed for sectors including retail, consumer packaged goods, travel, transportation and hospitality, and can be integrated into enterprise environments to improve operational efficiency and customer experiences.

The launch also highlights the growing collaboration between global cloud providers and IT services firms as enterprises seek practical pathways to deploy generative and agentic AI. Rather than focusing solely on model development, companies are increasingly investing in industry-specific innovation centers where customers can prototype, validate and scale AI applications before rolling them out across business operations.

For TCS, the Gemini Experience Center strengthens its expanding AI ecosystem and reinforces its strategy of building sector-focused innovation hubs around Google Cloud technologies. The company has been steadily broadening its AI portfolio through partnerships, proprietary frameworks and enterprise-ready AI agents to support digital transformation initiatives across industries.

The launch comes as organizations worldwide increase investments in generative and agentic AI to improve productivity, streamline operations and create new digital experiences. By providing a collaborative environment for AI experimentation and deployment, the Kolkata center is expected to help consumer businesses accelerate adoption while addressing industry-specific challenges through tailored AI solutions.
