Elon Musk's SpaceXAI has launched Grok Bot in beta, introducing a system of AI agents designed to work as digital teammates and carry out professional tasks across applications and websites with limited human intervention.
Grok Bot allows users to assign work to AI agents through conversational instructions rather than configuring individual automation workflows. The bots can sign into tools and websites, perform multi-step assignments and return to the user when a decision or approval is required.
A key feature of the system is its ability to deploy multiple bots simultaneously. The agents can communicate with one another, share context, divide responsibilities and coordinate work while carrying out an assignment. Users can also have one bot manage other bots, effectively creating a team of AI agents working on different parts of a task.
The bots are designed to retain context from previous assignments, allowing them to maintain information about workflows and user preferences over time. They can continue operating in the cloud even when a user's personal computer is not actively being used.
SpaceXAI said it has already deployed the technology internally across teams including engineering, marketing, growth, sales and finance.
Among the use cases outlined by the company, Grok Bot has been used to identify potential sales accounts and prepare emails overnight. In finance workflows, the technology has been used to locate receipts and invoices across email and other systems, while escalating cases requiring human attention.
For marketing and growth teams, the ability to delegate recurring digital tasks to persistent AI agents could extend the use of generative AI beyond content generation and conversational assistance. Tasks involving research, outreach, data collection and coordination across different business applications are among the workflows the technology is designed to handle.
Grok Bot enters a growing market for agentic AI systems as technology companies seek to move AI products from answering prompts towards independently executing longer workflows.
OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft and other AI companies have been developing tools capable of performing tasks across software environments with varying levels of autonomy. The emergence of multi-agent systems is extending that competition towards AI tools capable of coordinating with other agents rather than operating individually.
SpaceXAI's rollout also follows Musk's broader effort to expand Grok beyond its chatbot origins. The company has been developing AI coding capabilities and enterprise-focused products as it competes with established AI providers.
The company has also strengthened its coding capabilities through Cursor. SpaceX reached a $60 billion agreement in June to acquire the AI coding company, which has gained traction among developers using AI to write, modify and debug software.
Grok Bot is currently in early beta, with access available to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers. Enterprise customers can join a waitlist for access, while broader availability is expected to follow as the product develops.
The launch reflects the industry's wider move towards persistent AI agents that can remain active across workflows and coordinate tasks, bringing the concept of autonomous AI closer to day-to-day workplace software.
