Schreiber Foods has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with AI-native software engineering company Ascendion to deploy agentic AI across its global business operations. The collaboration is aimed at modernising software engineering, improving operational efficiency and accelerating digital transformation across the dairy manufacturer's worldwide network.
Schreiber Foods, an employee-owned food company with more than 10,000 employees, operates over 40 manufacturing facilities across five continents and serves customers in more than 95 countries. Under the partnership, Ascendion will introduce its proprietary AAVA agentic AI platform across Schreiber Foods' capability centres in the United States, Mexico, India, Spain and Poland.
According to the companies, the initiative is designed to embed AI agents into software development and business operations, allowing repetitive and high-volume technology tasks to be automated while enabling engineers and analysts to focus on higher-value decision-making. The deployment will also support ERP modernisation and help decision-makers access food quality and safety insights more quickly through AI-assisted workflows.
Agentic AI represents the next phase of enterprise AI adoption, where autonomous software agents can perform complex, multi-step tasks with minimal human intervention. Unlike traditional AI assistants that respond to prompts, agentic AI systems are designed to plan, execute and optimise workflows while collaborating with human teams.
Ascendion said its AAVA platform combines autonomous AI agents with human oversight to improve software engineering productivity, accelerate application development and support enterprise-wide transformation. The company has positioned the platform as a core component of its AI-native engineering model, which is already deployed across several Fortune 500 organisations.
The partnership reflects a broader trend among global enterprises moving beyond experimental AI deployments towards production-scale implementations. Organisations are increasingly investing in AI systems capable of improving operational efficiency, reducing manual workloads and supporting faster business decision-making while maintaining governance and compliance.
Within Schreiber Foods, the AI deployment will extend beyond software engineering to support operational functions linked to manufacturing and food production. By improving access to quality and safety signals, the company expects AI-powered insights to assist teams in making faster operational decisions while strengthening consistency across its international facilities.
The collaboration also aligns with growing investment in AI across the manufacturing and food sectors. Companies are increasingly applying AI to optimise production planning, predictive maintenance, supply chain management, inventory forecasting and quality assurance as they seek greater efficiency and resilience.
For Ascendion, the partnership adds another large-scale enterprise implementation to its expanding AI portfolio. The company has recently been recognised by industry analysts for its agentic AI capabilities and software engineering services, reflecting growing demand for AI-powered enterprise transformation.
Industry observers note that large-scale deployments such as this demonstrate how agentic AI is evolving from proof-of-concept projects into enterprise infrastructure. Rather than focusing solely on productivity gains, organisations are increasingly embedding AI into critical business processes where it can automate workflows while supporting human expertise.
As AI adoption accelerates across industries, food manufacturers are also exploring intelligent automation to improve operational performance without compromising quality or regulatory standards. AI-powered systems are being deployed across manufacturing environments to enhance visibility, streamline operations and enable faster responses to changing business conditions.
The Schreiber Foods and Ascendion partnership highlights the growing role of agentic AI in enterprise transformation. By integrating autonomous AI capabilities across software engineering and operational workflows, the two companies aim to improve efficiency, strengthen decision-making and support long-term digital transformation across Schreiber Foods' global operations.
