ChatGPT

OpenAI has introduced an Apple Messages plug-in for ChatGPT on Mac, allowing users to search conversations, catch up on message threads, draft replies and send messages through Apple's Messages app. The integration extends ChatGPT's capabilities into iMessage, SMS and RCS conversations stored on supported Macs.

The plug-in works through the ChatGPT desktop app on Apple Silicon Macs and can be used within ChatGPT Work and Codex. Once enabled, users can ask ChatGPT to find information from previous conversations, summarise message threads, prepare responses and send messages on their behalf.

The integration also allows users to combine information from Messages with other tasks. OpenAI has suggested use cases such as checking a calendar before replying to a contact with available times for dinner, identifying follow-ups from recent conversations or finding birthdays mentioned in messages and adding them to a calendar.

The feature reduces the need to manually copy conversations into ChatGPT when users want the AI assistant to analyse or respond to a message. It also moves ChatGPT further into personal communication workflows, expanding its role beyond standalone conversations and productivity tasks.

However, access to private conversations introduces additional privacy considerations. OpenAI said the plug-in runs locally on the user's device and does not create a complete index of their messages. ChatGPT accesses messages when a user specifically requests an action involving them.

Setting up the integration requires users to grant permissions on macOS, including Full Disk Access, which enables the application to access information stored on the device. The plug-in is opt-in rather than automatically enabled.

Message sending also includes an approval mechanism. By default, users have an opportunity to review a message before ChatGPT sends it through the Messages app. OpenAI has advised users against enabling persistent approval because doing so removes the final review step before a message is sent on their behalf.

The Apple Messages plug-in comes as OpenAI continues to expand ChatGPT from a conversational interface into an assistant capable of working across applications and completing multi-step tasks. The addition of messaging gives the system access to another everyday workflow where context is often distributed across lengthy conversations.

For users, the integration could simplify tasks such as searching old messages and drafting routine responses. At the same time, its access to personal communications places user permissions, review controls and data handling at the centre of how the feature is used.

Fleetx.ai, an AI-native fleet and logistics technology company, has acquired transportation management system provider Pando.ai for an undisclosed amount, bringing together fleet operations and freight management capabilities under a unified logistics technology platform.

The acquisition is aimed at combining Fleetx's fleet management, telematics and artificial intelligence capabilities with Pando.ai's transportation management technology. The combined platform is expected to give enterprises a broader system for managing physical fleet operations alongside freight planning and transportation workflows.

Pando.ai has built a presence in the enterprise transportation management market and works with companies across sectors. Its customer base includes Sun Pharma, Honda, Castrol, Godrej, Pernod Ricard, Berger Paints, Perfetti Van Melle and Orient Electric, according to information reported around the acquisition.

For Fleetx, the deal expands an existing technology portfolio that spans fleet management, trip intelligence, video telematics, fuel analytics, transport ERP and transportation management systems. The Gurugram-based company uses AI, IoT and real-time data to help enterprises digitise logistics operations, improve vehicle and driver safety and manage operational costs.

The acquisition comes as Fleetx increases its investment in AI-led logistics products. In November 2025, the company introduced an AI-powered truck routing intelligence platform designed specifically for commercial vehicles. The system uses insights from millions of trips across more than five lakh connected commercial vehicles to recommend routes based on factors including safety, speed and cost.

Fleetx has also been expanding its scale across India's logistics ecosystem. The company says it has served more than 500,000 vehicles, tracks more than 10 million trips annually and processes over 20 billion sensory data points each day. Its technology ecosystem includes more than 300 integrations.

The company raised Rs 113 crore in a Series C funding round in May 2025, led by existing investors IndiaMART and BEENEXT. At the time, Fleetx said it had crossed Rs 100 crore in annual recurring revenue and served more than 2,000 customers, including over 100 large enterprises. The funding was earmarked for product development and expansion across enterprise and mid-market customers.

By bringing Pando.ai into its operations, Fleetx is looking to connect two areas that are often managed through separate systems: the movement and management of vehicles, and the planning and execution of enterprise freight.

The acquisition broadens Fleetx's position from fleet management towards an integrated logistics technology platform as businesses increasingly look to AI, automation and connected data to manage transportation operations.
