TechDogs' MarTech Code

Technology media platform TechDogs has released the October 2026 edition of its magazine, titled MarTech Code: Decoding the Future of Marketing Technology, examining how artificial intelligence, changing search behaviour and marketing technology consolidation are influencing business marketing operations.

The edition focuses on the growing use of AI agents in campaign management, declining search referral traffic and the challenges organisations face in managing expanding marketing technology stacks.

According to data highlighted in the publication, Google Search referrals across Chartbeat's publisher network declined 40.2% year-on-year by July 2026. The finding forms part of the magazine's examination of how AI-powered search experiences are changing online visibility and traffic acquisition.

The issue also discusses Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, examining their implications for marketers and publishers that depend on search engines to reach audiences.

Another area of focus is the adoption of AI agents in marketing operations. The publication examines Salesforce's Agentforce Marketing Goals Agent, which allows marketers to establish campaign objectives and operating parameters while AI systems handle aspects of execution.

The magazine cites figures indicating that 90.3% of marketing organisations use AI agents, although only 23.3% have deployed them in full production. The figures point to a difference between experimentation and operational implementation.

Marketing technology consolidation is another subject covered in the edition.

Citing the State of Martech 2026 report, TechDogs notes that the number of marketing technology products increased by just 0.79%, following 14 years of sustained expansion.

The publication also references findings suggesting that 92% of marketers believe their technology stacks contain too many tools.

The edition examines how businesses are reviewing existing platforms, assessing overlapping capabilities and considering ways to simplify their marketing operations.

It features perspectives from industry executives, including Contentful Chief Marketing Officer Elizabeth Maxson-Martinet, who discusses the role of structured content and composable technology in supporting AI-driven personalisation.

Workday Chief Marketing Officer Emma Chalwin is also featured, discussing the concept of business-to-human marketing.

The publication additionally covers Adobe's plans for Firefly in content operations and Unilever's five-year AI partnership with Google Cloud.

Other subjects include content production workflows, platform-specific marketing strategies and the use of AI tools for creating and distributing digital content.

Ganesh Rajasekaran, Founder of TechDogs, said the publication aims to provide business leaders with context about technological developments and their implications for organisations.

The October edition also reviews marketing tools, industry data and funding activity involving companies such as Higgsfield, Runway and ElevenLabs.

The release comes as marketing teams assess technology investments, campaign processes and budgets for the coming year, with AI adoption and platform consolidation emerging as recurring themes in the publication.
