L’Oréal has appointed Aman Gandhi as Head of Cybersecurity for its Global Tech Hub in India, strengthening the beauty company's technology leadership as it expands its digital and artificial intelligence capabilities from the country.
Gandhi announced the appointment, saying he will focus on shaping the cybersecurity landscape of L’Oréal's newly established technology hub. His mandate will include developing cybersecurity capabilities that can scale alongside the hub while supporting the company's broader technology and innovation priorities.
The appointment comes as L’Oréal continues to build its India Tech Hub as part of its global Beauty Tech strategy. The hub is being developed to support areas including data, generative AI, agentic AI and other digital solutions, with India serving as a base for technology talent and development.
In his new role, Gandhi is expected to work with teams across the organisation to establish cybersecurity foundations for the hub as its operations expand. His appointment places cybersecurity alongside the technology infrastructure being developed to support L’Oréal's growing use of data, AI and digital platforms.
Before joining L’Oréal, Gandhi spent around six years with Saint-Gobain's International IT Delivery Centre, where he held cybersecurity responsibilities. His work there included security operations and cybersecurity leadership, alongside involvement in areas such as cyber defence and threat intelligence.
Gandhi described the opportunity to shape cybersecurity at the India Tech Hub from its early stages as a significant part of his new role. He said the focus would be on developing security capabilities that are scalable and resilient while keeping pace with the hub's technology development.
L’Oréal has been expanding its technology footprint in India as part of its wider global digital strategy. Prashant Vijay, who leads the company's India Tech Hub, has previously outlined plans to develop the operation around data, GenAI and agentic AI while drawing on India's engineering and technology talent.
The company has also been building links with India's technology ecosystem. L’Oréal's India Tech Hub recently signed a memorandum of understanding with BITS Pilani's Hyderabad campus covering areas such as campus engagement, research, hackathons and curriculum development.
The cybersecurity appointment comes as companies increasingly integrate AI and data-driven systems into business operations, increasing the need to build security controls alongside new digital infrastructure.
