Samsung has launched the beta version of its AI-powered Health Assistant, introducing a new layer of personalized wellness support within the Samsung Health ecosystem. The feature is designed to help users better understand their health data by combining insights from multiple wellness metrics into tailored recommendations, as technology companies continue expanding the role of artificial intelligence in digital healthcare.
Initially available to eligible users in the United States, Health Assistant is integrated directly into the Samsung Health app and leverages Galaxy AI to analyze information collected from Samsung smartphones, Galaxy Watch devices and the Galaxy Ring. Rather than simply displaying raw health metrics, the assistant interprets the data to provide actionable insights aimed at helping users build healthier daily habits.
Samsung said the assistant brings together information across five key wellness categories: sleep, activity, nutrition, mindfulness and vital signs. By connecting these data points, the AI system identifies patterns that may otherwise go unnoticed and explains how different aspects of a user's lifestyle influence overall health. The company said recommendations are backed by Samsung Health's knowledge base and validated by physicians and certified health coaches.
Users can interact with the assistant through natural language queries, asking questions about their health trends, Energy Score or wellness goals. The AI then generates personalized responses and suggests practical actions based on an individual's historical health data. Samsung noted that the assistant is intended to support general wellness and healthy lifestyle choices, not provide medical diagnoses or treatment recommendations.
The launch also strengthens Samsung's broader Connected Care strategy, which aims to bridge everyday wellness tracking with clinical healthcare services. Following its acquisition of digital health platform Xealth, Samsung plans to connect user-consented health insights with healthcare providers more securely, enabling more coordinated care experiences in the future.
According to the company, future updates will expand the assistant's capabilities beyond health monitoring. Planned enhancements include AI-driven coaching for behavioural change, weight management guidance and recommendations that take into account a user's schedule and daily routines through Samsung's Personal Data Engine. The system will be able to generate context-aware suggestions based on calendar events, habits and other relevant information while maintaining personalized responses.
The beta rollout follows Samsung's recent efforts to integrate Galaxy AI more deeply across its device portfolio. Earlier this month, the company previewed new AI-powered health features for the latest Galaxy Watch lineup, positioning wearable devices as central hubs for continuous health monitoring and personalized wellness guidance.
The introduction of Health Assistant comes as major technology companies increasingly compete in AI-powered health services. Firms including Google, Apple and Fitbit have expanded AI capabilities across their health platforms, focusing on personalized recommendations and preventive wellness rather than reactive healthcare. Samsung's latest offering reflects the industry's broader push to transform wearable-generated data into meaningful health insights that encourage long-term behavioural improvements.
While the beta is currently limited to eligible users in the US, Samsung is expected to expand availability over time as it gathers user feedback and refines the experience. The launch highlights the company's continued investment in AI-powered consumer health, positioning Samsung Health as a more intelligent platform that combines wearable data, contextual AI and personalized recommendations within a unified ecosystem.
