IBM and Yotta Data Services have announced the general availability of a Sovereign Agentic AI Platform for Indian organisations, designed to let enterprises deploy and manage AI agents while keeping data, operations and governance controls within India.
Announced on September 29, the platform combines IBM's enterprise AI technology with Yotta's sovereign cloud and AI capabilities. It is built using IBM watsonx Orchestrate and deployed on Yotta's Shakti Cloud, bringing agent management, computing infrastructure and AI model capabilities into a single environment.
IBM watsonx Orchestrate acts as the agentic control plane, allowing organisations to secure, govern and manage AI agents as their use expands across business functions. Yotta's Shakti Cloud provides the underlying compute and GPU infrastructure, networking, security and operational capabilities needed to run enterprise AI workloads.
The platform also incorporates Shakti Studio, Yotta's environment for AI model development and inference. Organisations can use it to explore, fine-tune, deploy and run both open-source and proprietary AI models, giving enterprises flexibility over the models used within their AI workflows.
The companies are positioning the platform around data sovereignty and enterprise control as organisations move AI projects from experimentation towards production. Sandip Patel, Managing Director, IBM India and South Asia, said evolving regulations and growing interest in digital sovereignty are putting greater emphasis on how securely, transparently and compliantly AI systems are deployed.
Sunil Gupta, Co-Founder, MD and CEO of Yotta Data Services, said organisations need control not only over data but also the infrastructure, compute, models, inference and operations supporting their AI systems. The collaboration combines these capabilities with IBM's enterprise and agentic AI technologies.
The platform is available through Yotta's cloud regions in Panvel, Navi Mumbai, and Greater Noida in Delhi NCR. IBM and Yotta said organisations can deploy it across workflows including security operations, document processing and human resources automation.
The general availability follows the partnership announced by IBM and Yotta in May 2026, when the companies outlined plans to host watsonx Orchestrate on Shakti Cloud and build an agentic AI offering for Indian enterprises and government organisations.
The launch adds another enterprise-focused offering to India's expanding agentic AI ecosystem, with IBM and Yotta focusing on a model where AI agents, infrastructure, inference and governance can operate within domestic cloud environments.
