GoDaddy has launched Airo for WordPress, an artificial intelligence-powered tool designed to help users create and manage WordPress websites through a conversational interface, as competition intensifies in the AI-led website building space.
The company said the new offering allows small businesses, entrepreneurs and web professionals to build a fully functional WordPress website within minutes from inside the WordPress dashboard. The tool combines AI-assisted site generation with editing, hosting and workflow support aimed at simplifying website creation for users with limited technical expertise.
According to GoDaddy, users can describe their business or website requirements through text prompts, after which the platform generates a multi-page website complete with layouts, copy and images. The company said the product has been developed to reduce the complexity often associated with WordPress website creation while retaining access to the broader WordPress ecosystem.
Bhala Dalvi, Vice President of Engineering at GoDaddy, said in a statement that businesses and agencies have traditionally faced a trade-off between easy-to-use website builders and the flexibility offered by WordPress. He added that the new AI layer is intended to simplify workflows without limiting customisation.
The launch comes as global technology and hosting companies continue to introduce AI-powered website creation tools targeted at small businesses and creators. Several firms, including WordPress.com, Hostinger and Wix, have recently expanded their AI website-building capabilities to automate design, content generation and site management.
GoDaddy said Airo for WordPress is designed to support the entire lifecycle of a website, including setup, editing and ongoing updates. The company stated that users can continue refining websites through AI-driven recommendations and conversational editing tools after the initial site is created.
The product is integrated with GoDaddy’s Managed Hosting for WordPress service and also connects with the company’s wider suite of business products, including commerce, marketing and domain services. The company said the tool is intended for both first-time users and agencies handling multiple client websites.
Industry observers have noted that AI-driven website generation has become a key battleground among hosting and website-building platforms as businesses increasingly seek faster and lower-cost ways to establish an online presence. Analysts have also pointed to rising demand for tools that reduce the need for coding knowledge and manual design work.
GoDaddy has been expanding its AI-focused offerings under the Airo brand over the past year. Earlier versions of the platform focused on generating website drafts and business content, while the latest release adds more integrated WordPress management and editing features.
The company said Airo for WordPress is now available to customers using its Managed Hosting for WordPress plans.
The announcement also reflects the broader shift among digital infrastructure companies to position AI as a core layer within online business tools rather than a standalone feature. Website hosting providers are increasingly integrating AI assistants that can generate text, suggest layouts, optimise search visibility and automate routine updates. Industry reports indicate that small businesses remain among the fastest-growing adopters of such tools as they look to reduce development costs and shorten launch timelines.
GoDaddy said the conversational interface has been built to work within the native WordPress experience instead of replacing it with a separate builder environment. The company added that users retain ownership and portability associated with WordPress websites while gaining access to AI-assisted workflows. The launch follows growing investor and industry attention around generative AI applications across e-commerce, digital marketing and small business software platforms.
The company did not disclose pricing changes tied to the rollout but said the feature would be accessible through existing hosting offerings. GoDaddy shares have remained under focus as investors track the impact of products across the hosting sector. Globally.
