AI security company QuilrAI has appointed Anuj Gupta as Managing Director for Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ), as the company expands its regional operations and focuses on enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence and agentic AI technologies.
Gupta joins QuilrAI's founding team after spending more than 12 years at Hitachi Systems India, where he most recently served as Managing Director and CEO. His appointment comes as QuilrAI seeks to strengthen its presence across APJ and support organisations implementing AI-powered systems.
In his new role, Gupta will lead QuilrAI's regional expansion, focusing on enterprise engagement, market development and the adoption of AI security and governance solutions.
The company confirmed the appointment through a LinkedIn announcement, stating that Gupta would lead its APJ expansion and help enterprises secure and operationalise agentic AI.
Gupta also announced his transition on LinkedIn, outlining his involvement in developing QuilrAI's India operations before taking on the broader regional responsibility.
He said he had worked closely with Vidit Arora over recent months on go-to-market planning, establishing the company's presence in India and developing its brand positioning in the market.
His new responsibilities will extend those efforts across Asia-Pacific and Japan, with an emphasis on helping enterprises adopt, optimise and scale AI and autonomous AI agents securely.
Gupta brings more than two decades of experience spanning enterprise technology, cybersecurity, cloud transformation, business leadership and emerging technologies.
During his tenure at Hitachi Systems India, he held senior leadership responsibilities involving enterprise technology operations and business development.
QuilrAI operates in the enterprise AI security segment, focusing on the governance and protection of AI applications and autonomous agents. Its offerings address security requirements arising when AI systems interact with enterprise data, applications and business workflows.
The company is positioning its technology around visibility, governance and runtime controls as organisations deploy AI agents capable of executing tasks and interacting with enterprise systems.
Following his appointment, Gupta represented QuilrAI at the Data Security Council of India's Cyber Security Awareness Month initiative.
He moderated a panel titled "Fortifying Financial Trust: Cybersecurity & Fraud Resilience in the AI & Privacy Era", which brought together representatives from financial services, cybersecurity and technology.
The event marked his first industry engagement after formally assuming the position.
Gupta's appointment places him in charge of QuilrAI's regional business development at a time when the company is extending its enterprise AI security operations beyond India.
