Indian Edtech Edubex Expands Global Reach

Indian edtech company Edubex is expanding its international footprint with artificial intelligence-enabled learning, university partnerships and a portfolio of more than 200 career-focused programmes, as it targets growing demand for online higher education and professional upskilling.

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Edubex provides online programmes spanning higher education, professional qualifications and career development. The company says its expansion strategy is focused on making internationally recognised education more accessible to students and working professionals across markets.

Artificial intelligence is becoming a growing part of that strategy. Edubex is integrating AI-enabled tools into its learning ecosystem to support personalised learning, assessments and student engagement. Its broader digital model also uses learner data and feedback to understand student requirements and improve learning outcomes.

The company currently offers more than 200 programmes across areas including management, technology and professional education, according to its announcement. Its portfolio is designed to address both academic qualifications and skills required by professionals looking to move into new or emerging roles.

Edubex is also strengthening its international university collaborations. One of its academic partners is Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, or UCAM, in Spain. UCAM lists Edubex as a collaborator across several postgraduate programmes, including MBA courses covering finance, project management, logistics and supply chain management, data analytics, design thinking and innovation.

The partnership model allows learners to access international qualifications through online delivery without relocating to another country. Edubex also provides academic support, assessments, mentoring and employability services through its digital platform.

Alongside Asia, Africa has emerged as an important market for the company. Edubex said it is working to expand access to international qualifications among learners in African markets, where online education can provide an alternative to overseas study.

The expansion comes as edtech platforms increasingly incorporate AI into learning and student support. Generative AI and data-driven systems are being used across the education sector for personalised content, assessments, tutoring and administrative support, although their adoption also raises questions around accuracy, data privacy and academic integrity.

Edubex is also expanding its AI-specific curriculum. The company currently promotes a Generative AI Fundamentals programme covering areas including ChatGPT, prompt engineering, AI agents, retrieval augmented generation and workflow automation, reflecting rising demand for practical AI skills.

Beyond course delivery, Edubex operates an online programme management model for educational institutions. Its services cover different stages of the student lifecycle, including quality assurance, assessment, student retention, learner support and outreach.

The company says its longer-term objective is to reach one million learners. Its international expansion strategy combines university collaborations with digital delivery and career-oriented programmes as demand for flexible education continues to grow.

For Edubex, the addition of AI-enabled learning adds another layer to a model already centred on online education. The company’s ability to scale that model internationally will depend on the reach of its university partnerships, the relevance of its programmes and how effectively its technology supports learners across different markets.
