Vijaye Raji

Amplitude has appointed Vijaye Raji, Chief Technology Officer of Applications at OpenAI and founder of Statsig, to its Board of Directors. The appointment comes as the AI analytics company continues integrating Statsig's capabilities into its business while retaining the platform's existing brand and services.

Announced on October 15, the appointment brings Raji back into the development of Statsig's broader business strategy following its transition to Amplitude earlier this year. The company said the arrangement is intended to help product and marketing teams better understand customer behaviour, conduct experiments and evaluate the performance of digital products.

Statsig, founded by Raji in 2021, provides tools for product experimentation, feature management and analytics. The platform was developed to make advanced experimentation capabilities accessible to developers, data scientists and product managers.

Its technology includes statistical methods such as variance reduction and sequential testing, which allow businesses to evaluate product changes and make decisions based on experimental results. Companies including Figma, Notion and Brex have used Statsig's platform.

Amplitude announced its partnership with Statsig in May 2026, taking responsibility for the company's brand, platform and customer relationships. Under the arrangement, Statsig continues operating as a distinct platform within Amplitude, with ongoing development and support for existing customers.

Raji currently serves as CTO of Applications at OpenAI, where he oversees advertising, growth and foundational data and engineering components. Before founding Statsig, he worked at Microsoft on developer tools and software platforms.

Commenting on the appointment, Amplitude CEO and Co-founder Spenser Skates said Raji's experience in experimentation would contribute to the company's efforts to develop its analytics and product testing capabilities.

“As more teams turn to experimentation to figure out what works, we're building the future of Amplitude and Statsig together to help them ship better products,” Skates said.

Raji said the collaboration would support the use of experimentation and data analysis in product development.

“Building software faster only matters if you're building the right things and creating more value for your customers,” he said.

The appointment also expands Amplitude's board from eight to nine directors. According to a regulatory filing, Raji will serve as a Class III director, with his initial term scheduled to expire at the company's 2027 annual meeting of stockholders.

Amplitude currently serves more than 5,200 customers, including Atlassian, Replit, The Economist and Square. Its platform combines product analytics, experimentation and AI-powered capabilities to help businesses assess digital experiences and customer interactions.

The development comes as businesses increasingly adopt AI-assisted software development tools, placing greater emphasis on measuring product performance, testing new features and understanding user engagement.

Amplitude said it will continue developing the Amplitude and Statsig platforms to support data-driven product decisions and experimentation across organisations.
