The Bengaluru-based skincare startup plans to expand its clinical team and strengthen AI-led technology for personalised dermatological consultations, diagnosis and follow-up care.
Bengaluru-based skincare startup Formial Labs has raised Rs 2.88 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Zeropearl VC, as the company looks to expand its technology-enabled dermatological care services and strengthen its personalised skincare offerings.
The funding round also saw participation from angel investors, including Aarti Gill, Founder of OZiva and Giga Capital; Arvind Radhakrishnan, Director of Partnerships at Social Alpha; Sushil Selvarajan; Ashok Ray Chaudhury; Shekhar Neema; and Dipti Thakur.
Formial Labs plans to use the fresh capital to expand its clinical team, increase consultation capacity and strengthen its technology infrastructure for diagnosis, personalisation and follow-up services.
Founded by Jeet Patel, the company operates a digital skincare model that combines clinical diagnosis, prescription-based formulations and continued dermatological support.
Its services focus on skin concerns including acne, pigmentation, scarring and melasma, which may require sustained treatment and monitoring rather than standardised skincare products.
The startup is developing its technology capabilities to support personalised treatment recommendations and improve continuity in patient consultations.
The investment comes as technology-enabled healthcare businesses explore ways to integrate artificial intelligence into clinical services, including diagnosis support, treatment personalisation and ongoing patient engagement.
According to the company, its approach is intended to address challenges associated with accessing personalised dermatological care through a digitally supported consultation and treatment process.
Commenting on the funding, Jeet Patel, Founder of Formial Labs, said, "Skin concerns such as acne, pigmentation, scarring and melasma often require sustained treatment rather than one-size-fits-all solutions."
He added that the investment would help the company strengthen its clinical and technology capabilities and expand access to personalised prescription skincare across India.
Bipin Shah, Founder and Managing Partner of Zeropearl VC, said Indian consumers were becoming increasingly focused on skincare outcomes and product ingredients.
Shah highlighted Formial Labs' combination of clinical expertise, personalised prescription formulations and ongoing care through an AI-first approach.
He also pointed to the company's reported fourfold repeat rate achieved in less than two years, identifying customer retention as one of the factors behind the investment decision.
The figure reflects the investor's statement and has not been independently verified.
Zeropearl VC is an early-stage venture capital firm that invests across consumer businesses and technology startups, including companies developing artificial intelligence-based products and services.
For Formial Labs, the funding will support its next phase of development as it works to increase consultation capacity and enhance technology-assisted dermatological services.
The company's longer-term objective is to build a digital care model that integrates personalised treatment and follow-up into routine skin and hair health management.
The latest investment will allow Formial Labs to expand its clinical operations while continuing to develop technology for individualised skincare services.
