Samsung Nepal has expanded its digital skilling initiative in the country by launching a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) programme under its Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), while celebrating the successful graduation of students from its Coding and Programming course. The move is aimed at strengthening Nepal's future-ready workforce as demand for AI skills continues to rise across industries.
The announcement was made during a graduation ceremony recognising students who completed the latest Coding and Programming programme conducted between December 2025 and June 2026. Participants received hands-on training in programming, practical project development and industry exposure as part of Samsung's broader effort to enhance digital employability among young people in Nepal.
Samsung also opened applications for a new AI programme, positioning the course as the next phase of its skill development efforts. The curriculum has been designed to provide practical AI education with a focus on real-world applications, enabling students to build capabilities in emerging technologies while encouraging innovation to address local challenges.
The Samsung Innovation Campus was introduced in Nepal in 2023 under Samsung's global corporate social responsibility vision, "Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People." Since its launch, the initiative has focused on equipping young learners with technical knowledge in future technologies while also strengthening workplace skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
Speaking at the event, Chang Uk Jung, Managing Director of Samsung Nepal, said the company had witnessed strong potential among Nepal's youth and believes AI education will play an increasingly important role as artificial intelligence transforms industries worldwide. He noted that Samsung Innovation Campus aims to equip students with the technical skills, confidence and innovative mindset needed to contribute to Nepal's digital future.
Beyond classroom learning, Samsung said graduates will continue to receive mentorship from Samsung employees and industry professionals, along with career guidance and opportunities to participate in innovation-led projects. The company also plans to establish a Samsung Innovation Campus Alumni Network that will help former participants remain connected, continue learning and mentor future students joining the programme.
Samsung highlighted that collaboration between academia, industry and government will be critical to building a stronger AI ecosystem in Nepal. According to the company, such partnerships can help create new employment opportunities, strengthen digital capabilities and accelerate the country's broader technology transformation.
The Nepal initiative forms part of Samsung's wider Samsung Innovation Campus programme, which operates across multiple countries to provide education in AI, coding, big data and Internet of Things technologies. In India, the programme has also been expanded significantly in recent years to train thousands of students in future technologies aligned with the country's Digital India and Skill India missions.
As enterprises continue to integrate AI into business operations, demand for professionals with practical AI skills is expected to increase. Industry-led skilling initiatives such as Samsung Innovation Campus are emerging as complementary programmes that bridge the gap between academic education and workforce requirements by combining technical instruction with project-based learning and employability training.
