Klook Launches K.ai Globally

Travel and experiences booking platform Klook has announced the global launch of K.ai, an artificial intelligence-powered agent designed to automate back-office operations for travel experience providers. The rollout comes ahead of the year-end travel season as the company looks to simplify administrative processes and support the digitalisation of smaller travel businesses.

Integrated directly into Klook's merchant portal, K.ai enables operators to manage bookings, update inventory, adjust pricing and generate product listings through automated workflows.

Unlike conventional conversational AI assistants that primarily respond to user queries, K.ai uses agentic AI capabilities to execute operational tasks. The system is designed to reduce manual intervention in activities that travel merchants typically manage through multiple administrative processes.

According to Klook, small and medium-sized enterprises account for approximately 95% of the travel experiences sector. Many of these businesses operate with limited technology resources, making the management of online inventory and booking systems a continuing operational requirement.

K.ai aims to address these challenges by allowing merchants to carry out routine tasks within the company's existing platform.

The AI agent can check reservations, modify inventory availability and increase prices based on merchant instructions. It can also create product listings using uploaded promotional materials and other business information.

Klook said early platform data indicates that K.ai has reduced the time required for individual inventory updates by 95%, while batch product checks have become 97% faster.

The company also reported that active users of the AI tool recorded 3.4 times more monthly bookings than merchants who had not adopted it. These figures reflect Klook's initial platform observations.

Bernie Xiong, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Klook, said many travel experience merchants lack dedicated teams to manage technology and administrative operations.

He explained that the company's objective was to introduce practical agentic AI capabilities into merchants' daily workflows, allowing operators to spend less time on administrative activities and focus more on delivering travel experiences.

Beyond booking and inventory management, K.ai can analyse customer reviews to generate operational insights for merchants. The capability is intended to help businesses identify customer feedback patterns and make adjustments to their offerings.

The global rollout is also expected to support Klook's efforts to onboard more travel experience providers across regional markets.

By simplifying product listing creation and inventory management, the company aims to increase the availability of bookable experiences on its platform while supporting merchant retention and transaction volumes.

The launch reflects Klook's broader use of AI in travel commerce, extending automation beyond customer-facing booking experiences to the operational systems used by merchants.

Klook has not disclosed detailed pricing arrangements for K.ai or specified whether all features will be available to merchants across every market at launch.
