HCLTech has launched a dedicated business unit, HCLTech Pulse, targeting fast-scaling enterprises with annual revenues between $500 million and $5 billion as the technology services company looks to expand its presence in enterprise AI and technology modernisation.
The new unit is designed to help companies move from isolated artificial intelligence projects towards broader deployment across business operations. HCLTech said Pulse will bring together capabilities spanning AI strategy, data, cybersecurity, platforms, cloud transformation, engineering and business-process transformation under a single offering.
The company is targeting organisations that have traditionally worked with multiple specialised technology providers across strategy, implementation, platforms and operations. Through Pulse, HCLTech plans to provide an integrated delivery model aimed specifically at businesses within the $500 million to $5 billion revenue segment.
The unit will focus on areas including AI strategy and implementation, responsible AI, data and AI platforms, cloud transformation, application modernisation, enterprise platforms, cybersecurity, engineering services and managed services.
HCLTech CEO and Managing Director C Vijayakumar said enterprises seeking value from AI will need to rethink business processes rather than simply automate existing operations. The company is positioning Pulse around helping businesses redesign workflows while scaling AI in a governed and secure manner.
The targeted segment represents an estimated $400 billion global technology services opportunity and is growing at around 7% to 9% annually, according to market estimates cited by the company. HCLTech is seeking to address this market with a model tailored to organisations that require enterprise-grade technology capabilities but may have different requirements from the world's largest corporations.
Ashish Kumar Gupta, who leads the new business unit, said Pulse has been created to address the technology and transformation requirements of companies at a critical stage of growth. The approach combines HCLTech's existing technology portfolio with a delivery structure developed for the segment.
The launch comes as HCLTech expands its broader investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure and services. In July, the company announced its entry into the full-stack AI market alongside a proposed investment of up to ₹3,500 crore in AI data centres, with the infrastructure having the potential to scale to 50 MW of capacity.
With Pulse, HCLTech is extending its AI services strategy to a defined enterprise segment as businesses increasingly evaluate how to move generative and agentic AI projects from experimentation into production environments.
