'yuu-moji' Campaign

Hong Kong loyalty platform yuu has partnered with dentsu Hong Kong to launch "yuu-moji", an AI-powered campaign that turns members' interests, aspirations and everyday moments into personalised digital identities.

The activation is the first major campaign under yuu's refreshed brand platform, "Rewards for Every yuu", and is designed to expand how the company communicates the value of its loyalty programme. Instead of focusing primarily on earning and redeeming points, the campaign uses personalisation and member participation to connect rewards with individual interests and experiences.

Through yuu-moji, members can create personalised digital expressions based on aspects of their lives, including their passions and aspirations. Artificial intelligence is used to translate these inputs into individual digital identities, effectively placing members at the centre of the campaign.

The approach reflects yuu's attempt to shift its loyalty marketing from a primarily transactional proposition towards a more personalised brand experience. The company operates a connected rewards ecosystem spanning retail, dining, financial services and lifestyle brands in Hong Kong.

May May Wong, Head of Marketing at yuu Rewards, said the company's ambition is to build a brand that feels more personal to members. She said yuu-moji combines creativity, technology and self-expression to connect the company's rewards proposition with moments in members' everyday lives.

Dentsu Creative Hong Kong developed the activation around the idea of using identity rather than transactions as the central creative device.

Anna Wong, Chief Growth Officer at Dentsu Creative Hong Kong, said traditional loyalty programmes have largely concentrated on transactions, while the campaign looks at what accumulated rewards can enable for individual members. According to the agency, yuu-moji is intended to turn members into the face of the brand by translating their everyday experiences into personalised expressions.

The campaign also illustrates how generative AI and personalisation tools are increasingly being incorporated into customer engagement and loyalty marketing. Rather than using AI solely for backend functions such as customer segmentation or campaign optimisation, yuu-moji applies the technology directly to the consumer-facing creative experience.

For yuu, the activation provides a way to connect its refreshed positioning with an interactive experience while retaining rewards as the underlying proposition. The campaign does not change the mechanics of the loyalty programme itself, but changes how the brand presents the role rewards can play in members' lives.
