Mohit Malhotra has resigned as Global Chief Executive Officer and Whole-time Director of Dabur India, bringing an end to his 32-year association with the FMCG company. His resignation will take effect on November 13, 2026, as he prepares to take up a new leadership role overseas.
Malhotra communicated his decision in a resignation letter dated November 3, addressed to Dabur Chairman Mohit Burman. He is expected to join his next organisation on November 16, although the company has not disclosed details of his new appointment.
The development comes months after Dabur revised its leadership structure, appointing Herjit Singh Bhalla to head its India business and redesignating Malhotra as Global CEO in February 2026.
Following Malhotra's departure, Bhalla has been appointed as Additional Director and Whole-time Director, effective November 14, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals. He will continue to oversee Dabur's India operations.
P D Narang, Whole-time Director at Dabur, will continue to oversee the company's international business. Dabur has not yet announced a successor to Malhotra as Global CEO.
Malhotra joined Dabur in 1994 as a management trainee and subsequently held several responsibilities across sales, marketing and business operations.
In 2001, he took charge of the company's European Union business before moving to Dubai in 2004 to lead marketing for its international operations. He was appointed CEO of Dabur International in 2008.
During his tenure in the international business, Dabur expanded its overseas presence through acquisitions, including Turkey's Hobi Kozmetik Group and US-based Namaste Laboratories. These transactions strengthened the company's personal care portfolio and international distribution network.
Malhotra later returned to lead Dabur's India business and succeeded Sunil Duggal as CEO of Dabur India on April 1, 2019.
He was subsequently reappointed for a five-year term extending until January 2029, before the company introduced its revised leadership structure earlier this year.
As CEO, Malhotra oversaw marketing and distribution initiatives across established brands, including Dabur Red Paste, Dabur Amla, Réal, Dabur Honey and Dabur Chyawanprash.
The company also focused on reaching younger consumers through new product formats and expanded applications of its Ayurvedic offerings.
Under his leadership, Dabur strengthened its foods portfolio by acquiring a 51 per cent stake in Badshah Masala, with the transaction completed in January 2023.
The company also expanded its presence across digital commerce channels, using online platforms to introduce products and assess consumer demand. In 2025, it launched Siens, a direct-to-consumer supplements brand, through Amazon and its own online store.
Malhotra also identified quick commerce as an important channel for online sales and the introduction of premium products.
His departure marks a senior leadership transition at Dabur, with Bhalla continuing to manage the domestic business and Narang overseeing international operations while the company determines its next Global CEO appointment.
