Meta has appointed Dhruv Vohra as Managing Director of its Global Business Group for Southeast Asia, putting the seven-year company veteran in charge of its commercial strategy across six markets in the region.
In his new role, Vohra will oversee Meta's business across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. He will report to Benjamin Joe, Vice President for Asia Pacific, and lead teams working with advertisers and agencies across the region.
His mandate will include helping businesses use artificial intelligence and messaging across Meta's family of apps, while also strengthening the company's commercial partnerships in Southeast Asia.
Vohra has spent seven years at Meta and has held leadership positions spanning e-commerce, digital businesses and small and medium-sized businesses across Asia Pacific. He joined the company in 2019 as Director for e-commerce and digital natives, working with digital platforms and businesses operating across the region's online commerce ecosystem.
He subsequently took responsibility for small and medium business growth in Southeast Asia before expanding his remit to lead Meta's SMB Group across the wider Asia Pacific region. His latest appointment brings him back to Southeast Asia with a broader commercial leadership mandate.
"Southeast Asia is one of Meta's fastest-growing business regions, and the work ahead is helping businesses leverage AI and messaging at the pace their customers already expect," said Benjamin Joe, Vice President for Asia Pacific at Meta.
Joe added that Vohra's experience working closely with businesses in the region and building teams supporting millions of companies positioned him for the expanded role.
Beyond his responsibilities at Meta, Vohra writes a LinkedIn newsletter titled "Small to Scale: Inside APAC's Innovative SMBs", which focuses on how small and medium-sized businesses are changing the way they sell and grow. He has also contributed to Meta's SYNC Southeast Asia thought leadership series covering digital consumer behaviour and e-commerce trends.
The appointment comes as Meta continues to place AI and business messaging at the centre of its offerings for advertisers and businesses. Its portfolio across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp gives the company multiple channels through which brands can reach consumers, run advertising and manage customer interactions.
For Vohra, the new role expands his responsibilities from the SMB segment to Meta's broader commercial operations across Southeast Asia, including relationships with advertisers, agencies and other business partners in the six markets.
