Globant has appointed Fernando Matzkin as Chief Operating Officer as the digital technology company moves to accelerate its AI-native transformation and reshape its operations around artificial intelligence-led services.
Matzkin, who most recently served as Globant’s Chief Revenue Officer, has spent 17 years with the company. During his tenure, he has held several leadership positions, including Chief Business Officer for the United States and Europe, and has been involved in expanding the company’s presence across both markets.
In his new role, Matzkin will be responsible for evolving Globant’s operating model and translating the company’s strategy into execution. His mandate will also cover client delivery, customer success and commercial performance across key markets under Globant’s industry-led business model.
A central part of the role will involve accelerating Globant’s AI transformation through Glob.AI and AI Pods, two components of the company’s strategy for developing AI-native technology services.
Glob.AI was introduced earlier this month as a platform through which enterprises can access and deploy AI services. Instead of traditional pricing based on employee hours or seats, the model links pricing to output or consumption. Services are delivered through AI Pods, which Globant describes as specialised service units operated by AI agents and supervised by human experts.
The leadership change comes as Globant looks to scale the model. As of June 2026, Glob.AI had reached $52.8 million in annual recurring revenue, representing growth of 61% quarter-on-quarter. The company has also reported a $436 million pipeline for the business.
Martín Migoya, Co-founder and CEO of Globant, said Matzkin had played a significant role in the company’s growth over the past 17 years. He added that the new COO would support Globant’s Vision 2030 strategy while strengthening its ability to operate and execute at scale.
Matzkin said the company is entering a new phase as it develops the next generation of AI-native services. He said the focus would be on evolving Globant’s operating approach while improving speed, effectiveness and proximity to clients as businesses prepare for further changes driven by AI.
The appointment follows another AI-focused leadership move at Globant. On August 18, the company named Sarab Narang as CEO of Glob.AI. Narang was tasked with scaling the model, accelerating enterprise adoption and expanding its ecosystem of AI Pods and technology partners.
The latest changes indicate Globant is moving beyond deploying AI as an additional technology capability and increasingly integrating it into its service delivery, commercial and operating models.
