Noopur Khandekar, Head of Brand Marketing, Galeries Lafayette India

Galeries Lafayette India has appointed Noopur Khandekar as Head of Brand Marketing, strengthening its marketing leadership as the French department store brand builds its presence in the Indian luxury retail market.

Based in Mumbai, Khandekar will lead brand marketing for Galeries Lafayette’s India operations. She announced the appointment on LinkedIn, confirming that she had taken on the new role. The move comes as the luxury retailer develops its India business through a partnership with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited.

Khandekar joins Galeries Lafayette India from Tilt Brand Solutions, where she served as Senior Vice President between February 2025 and July 2026. Her experience spans brand strategy, creative development, consumer insights, content and stakeholder management across agencies and consumer-facing businesses.

Before joining Tilt, Khandekar spent nearly six years at Spring Marketing Capital as a Portfolio Associate. During her tenure, she worked across creative strategy, consumer insights and content for brands including Zoya, Epigamia, 82°E and Hindustan Unilever.

Earlier in her career, Khandekar held roles at MullenLowe Lintas Group and Lowe Lintas and Partners. She began her career as a Brand Consultant at Rediffusion Y&R, giving her experience across different parts of India's advertising and brand marketing ecosystem.

Her previous agency work has included consumer brands across multiple categories. Khandekar was part of the account management team behind PharmEasy's "Take it easy PharmEasy" campaign at Mullen Lintas, while her later work has included brand-building assignments across jewellery, food, beauty and consumer products.

The appointment comes as Galeries Lafayette develops its India presence in partnership with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail. The French luxury department store operator's entry into India represents part of a broader expansion of international luxury and premium retail brands seeking to reach Indian consumers.

For Galeries Lafayette India, brand marketing will play a role in translating the retailer's international identity for the domestic market while building awareness among Indian luxury consumers.

The brand's positioning brings together fashion, beauty, accessories and lifestyle categories under a department store format, making marketing and customer experience important components of its India strategy.

Khandekar's appointment brings an agency and brand-building background into the retailer's India leadership structure as it develops its consumer-facing identity in the market.

Her move also marks a transition from senior agency leadership to an in-house brand marketing mandate. In the new position, her focus will be on Galeries Lafayette's India operations as the retailer builds its presence and brand proposition in the country.
