Deloitte is expanding the technology capabilities of its Innovation Hub in Egypt, with a focus on artificial intelligence, engineering, data and cybersecurity as the professional services firm scales its delivery operations for clients across international markets.
The Deloitte Innovation Hub has invested more than $30 million to date, with an additional $80 million planned over the next three years to expand its digital capabilities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Cairo-based operation has grown from an initial team of 23 professionals to more than 900, according to the company, and now supports hundreds of clients across multiple markets.
The hub is increasingly focusing on integrating AI into enterprise operations rather than limiting its use to standalone experiments. Its AI and data teams are developing data platforms and customised generative AI and large language model solutions for business processes.
In banking and financial services, the hub has worked on generative AI applications for automated credit risk assessments. Deloitte said these implementations have reduced some processing times from days to minutes. The company is also expanding its engineering capabilities across cloud architecture, DevOps, automated testing and enterprise workflow technologies.
Cybersecurity is another area of focus, with the hub integrating security, digital privacy and cyber resilience into software and cloud deployments. The approach is designed to help organisations introduce digital technologies while building security considerations into the underlying systems and workflows.
The Egypt hub forms part of Deloitte's wider Europe, Middle East and Africa network and provides technology services to organisations outside the country. Its capabilities cover areas including engineering, AI and data, customer technology, cloud, enterprise platforms and cyber.
Ahmed Salem, Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Innovation Hub, said organisations are increasingly looking beyond access to emerging technologies and focusing on how investments in areas such as AI, engineering and cybersecurity can translate into operational and financial outcomes.
Alongside client projects, Deloitte is investing in technology skills development in Egypt. The hub works with the Information Technology Institute and other training organisations to provide specialised technology training. It is also involved in the NextStep x UNICEF Mentorship Programme, which connects young professionals with industry mentors. A new cohort of the programme was launched in July 2026.
Deloitte officially launched the Cairo Innovation Hub in 2024 after operations began in 2023, positioning it as a technology delivery centre serving clients across Europe and the Middle East. Its continued expansion reflects the firm's broader effort to use Egypt's technology talent base for AI, engineering, cloud and cybersecurity projects across international markets.
