Oliver Kaye, COO

Indian fitness and active lifestyle brand Boldfit has appointed former Lenskart Chief Business Officer Oliver Kaye as its Chief Operating Officer, as the company looks to scale its business across categories, channels and geographies.

Kaye brings more than 25 years of experience across the retail and consumer sectors in the UK, Europe and India. His appointment comes as Boldfit seeks to expand its presence and build a larger consumer business in India's growing sports, fitness and active lifestyle market.

During his career, Kaye has held senior roles with companies including Marks & Spencer, Tesco and Selfridges. His experience in India includes leading the launch of Calvin Klein in the country, helping build Gap India's business and contributing to the expansion of Lenskart's retail operations during a period of rapid growth.

At Boldfit, Kaye's mandate will focus on translating the company's growth into a business capable of operating at a larger scale. This will include supporting expansion across product categories, distribution channels and markets while strengthening the operational capabilities required for the company's next phase.

Commenting on the appointment, Boldfit founder Pallav Bihani said Kaye's experience in building and scaling consumer businesses would support the company's plans to expand its categories and presence. The company is seeking to strengthen its position in India's sports and fitness market as it broadens its consumer offering.

Kaye said the opportunity in India's fitness and active lifestyle segment was among the factors that attracted him to the role. He highlighted the scope for further development of the category and said his focus would be on helping Boldfit build for scale across categories, channels and geographies.

The appointment comes as Boldfit works to move beyond its initial growth phase and widen its footprint in the consumer fitness market. Bringing an executive with experience across international retail and Indian consumer businesses gives the company additional operational leadership as it pursues that expansion.

Kaye's background across traditional retail, international brands and newer consumer businesses also brings experience across different stages of brand development. His previous work with Lenskart is particularly relevant to Boldfit's plans, given the eyewear company's expansion across physical retail and consumer channels in India.

With Kaye taking charge as COO, Boldfit is placing greater emphasis on operations and scale as it expands its portfolio. His role will involve turning the company's current growth momentum into a broader operating structure capable of supporting its ambitions across India's fitness and active lifestyle market.
