Nasdaq-listed industrial software company Octave Intelligence has inaugurated a new Technology and Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, with plans to scale the facility to 2,000 engineers over the coming years as it expands its global technology operations.
Spread across approximately 2 lakh sq ft in HITEC City, the centre will house teams working across software engineering, artificial intelligence, data, cloud technologies and product development. The facility will contribute to products and platforms used by Octave customers globally, particularly across industries managing complex and mission-critical infrastructure.
The centre was inaugurated by Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, alongside Octave CEO Mattias Stenberg, Sekhar Konidena, Vice President, Product and Services, Octave India, and other senior company executives.
The Hyderabad facility also includes an Experience Centre designed to showcase Octave's connected and contextual intelligence technologies. The company's software portfolio spans areas including geospatial intelligence, engineering information management, enterprise asset management, physical security and quality management.
Octave develops industrial software that combines data, AI and engineering capabilities to help organisations manage operational information and mission-critical assets. The company currently serves around 4,500 customers across 180 countries and says more than 60% of Global Fortune 500 companies use its technologies.
Mattias Stenberg said Hyderabad's engineering talent, technology ecosystem and culture of innovation made the city an important location for the company's next phase of growth. He described the centre as an investment in both people and capabilities that will support Octave's future technology development.
Sekhar Konidena said Hyderabad has become a key technology and innovation hub for Octave, with local teams already contributing to products and platforms used globally. The expanded centre will deepen the company's capabilities across AI, software engineering, data, cloud and product development.
The expansion also adds to Hyderabad's growing base of global capability centres. According to Sridhar Babu, the city welcomed 75 new GCCs over the past year, while Telangana is targeting another 100 over the next year.
Global companies have increasingly been building specialised technology capabilities in Hyderabad across sectors ranging from capital markets and energy to travel, media and hospitality. Recent entrants include companies such as Charles Schwab, Vanguard and T-Mobile.
With the planned expansion to 2,000 engineers, Octave is positioning its Hyderabad operation as a global product and engineering hub rather than primarily a support centre, with AI and advanced technology forming part of its development mandate.
