Vineet Mehta , Vice President of India Tech Hub, Lululemon

Lululemon has appointed Vineet Mehta as Vice President of its India Tech Hub, strengthening the athletic apparel company's technology leadership in the country as India continues to emerge as a key base for global technology operations.

In his new role, Mehta will lead Lululemon's India technology hub and oversee its technology capabilities from the market. The appointment comes as global companies increasingly expand technology, engineering and digital functions through their India-based capability centres.

Mehta announced the move on LinkedIn, saying he had joined Lululemon to lead the India Tech Hub. He also highlighted the company's focus on technology, innovation and building capabilities from India.

He joins Lululemon with more than two decades of experience across technology leadership, digital transformation and global capability centre operations. Prior to the appointment, Mehta was associated with Shell, where he held senior technology leadership responsibilities.

His professional experience also includes leadership roles across organisations such as Walmart Global Tech and GE. Across these assignments, he has worked on technology transformation, digital capabilities and building and scaling technology teams.

The appointment puts Mehta at the centre of Lululemon's technology operations in India at a time when retailers are increasing investments in areas such as data, artificial intelligence, digital commerce and technology-led customer experiences.

Lululemon, headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, operates across athletic apparel, footwear and accessories. Technology has become an increasingly important part of the operations of global consumer brands, supporting functions ranging from e-commerce and supply chain management to data analytics and customer engagement.

India, meanwhile, has become a significant location for global capability centres, with multinational companies establishing teams across engineering, product development, analytics, artificial intelligence and other digital functions. Retail and consumer companies have also been expanding their technology presence in the country as digital channels become more closely integrated with physical retail operations.

For Lululemon, the India Tech Hub provides access to the country's technology talent base while supporting the company's broader global technology requirements.

Mehta's appointment adds to a series of senior technology leadership movements linked to India-based global capability and technology centres. Companies across retail, financial services, automotive and other sectors have been building leadership teams in the country as their local operations take on broader global mandates.

As Vice President of the India Tech Hub, Mehta will be responsible for leading the centre and its technology organisation as Lululemon continues to develop its digital and technology capabilities.
