The partnership will see HCLTech establish a dedicated Anthropic business unit and integrate Claude AI capabilities into selected enterprise software products, with a focus on security and governance.

HCLTech has announced a global partnership with artificial intelligence company Anthropic to expand the adoption of agentic AI across enterprises, with a focus on cybersecurity, governance and responsible deployment.

Announced on October 12, 2026, the Global Premier Partnership will bring Anthropic's Claude AI models and related tools into HCLTech's enterprise technology services and selected software products.

Under the agreement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to develop agentic AI solutions for enterprise customers. The centre will support organisations in testing, deploying and managing AI systems within controlled environments.

The collaboration will also involve HCLTech's services teams developing industry-specific solutions using Claude, Claude Code and Cowork. These tools will support enterprise applications, software engineering and the automation of business processes.

As part of the arrangement, HCLSoftware will become an independent software vendor (ISV) partner of Anthropic. The company plans to integrate Claude capabilities into selected enterprise products covering cybersecurity, automation, application development and business process management.

These include HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, alongside capabilities intended to support Actian AI Analyst.

HCLTech will also incorporate Claude and Claude Code into AI Force, its agentic software engineering platform. The integration will focus on IT support, code remediation and digital employee services.

According to the company, these workflows will include policy-based safeguards, exception handling and human oversight for changes that could have significant operational consequences.

The partnership will additionally support enterprise workforce training and the adoption of AI-native engineering practices. HCLTech said its teams would help organisations build the technical and operational capabilities required to deploy agentic AI at scale.

Daniela Amodei, Co-founder and President of Anthropic, said the collaboration would support the integration of Claude into sensitive enterprise environments, including industries such as banking, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing.

C Vijayakumar, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of HCLTech, said the company's combination of global technology services and enterprise software capabilities would support the development and deployment of agentic AI solutions.

The agreement comes as technology service providers increasingly work with AI model developers to introduce autonomous systems into enterprise workflows.

Unlike conventional AI assistants that primarily respond to user instructions, agentic AI systems are designed to carry out multistep tasks, interact with software tools and execute defined workflows with varying degrees of autonomy.

For enterprises, deploying such systems requires controls governing data access, operational permissions and human intervention.

HCLTech said the partnership would combine its engineering, cloud, data and software capabilities with Anthropic's AI models and safety-focused development approach.

The companies have not disclosed the financial terms of the agreement or specific customer deployment targets.
