Government Invites Applications for ₹5.85 Crore Global AI Impact Challenge

The Government of India has announced the launch of the Global AI Impact Challenge, a new initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), designed to identify and support innovators, startups, and researchers building artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for social and economic impact. With a total grant value of ₹5.85 crore, the challenge aims to advance India’s AI leadership globally while ensuring responsible, inclusive, and scalable technology innovation.

The program, spearheaded by IndiaAI Mission, will be implemented through the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and Digital India Corporation (DIC). It seeks to catalyze the development of AI-driven solutions that address real-world challenges across key sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, sustainability, and governance. By funding promising projects, the initiative underscores India’s growing commitment to leveraging AI for public good and fostering innovation that aligns with the country’s broader digital transformation vision.
