TCS, Porsche Partner to Scale AI Across Manufacturing, Engineering and MobilityTata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Porsche AG have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at expanding the use of artificial intelligence across the automaker’s mobility value chain, including manufacturing, engineering, operations and customer experience.
The partnership is backed by a five-year strategic agreement between the two companies. As part of the collaboration, TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche, focused on converting AI use cases into secure and scalable solutions across the automotive company’s operations.
The Centre of Excellence will focus on industrialising AI across several areas of the mobility sector. TCS and Porsche plan to work together on intelligent manufacturing and operations, engineering and customer experience, combining Porsche’s automotive capabilities with TCS’ expertise in AI, product engineering, technology and business transformation.
Alongside the partnership, TCS, through its subsidiary, will acquire 100% of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary. The proposed acquisition and partnership remain subject to regulatory approvals.
MHP specialises in automotive and industrial consulting, with capabilities spanning business transformation, artificial intelligence, SAP, manufacturing digitalisation and connected mobility. TCS said the acquisition will strengthen its presence in Germany as well as its position among European automotive and industrial customers. MHP has around 4,500 employees globally.
- Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director of TCS, said AI, software and data are redefining the automotive industry, adding that the partnership will bring together TCS’ capabilities in AI, engineering and business transformation with MHP’s automotive consulting expertise.
The companies intend to use the collaboration to scale AI across Porsche rather than limit deployment to individual pilots. The Centre of Excellence will focus on turning AI concepts into operational solutions designed to improve speed, resilience and competitiveness across Porsche’s product and value chain.
Porsche CEO Dr. Michael Leiters said the transfer of MHP to TCS is part of Porsche’s strategy to sharpen its focus on its core business. He added that combining Porsche’s automotive expertise with TCS’ digital technology and AI capabilities is expected to support efficiency and competitiveness as mobility becomes increasingly driven by software and data.
The partnership comes as automakers increasingly integrate AI, software and data into vehicle development, manufacturing and customer-facing operations. For TCS, the agreement also aligns with its broader push to expand AI-led technology services and next-generation mobility capabilities.
The five-year arrangement gives both companies a longer-term framework to deploy AI across Porsche’s organisation and wider mobility ecosystem, while the MHP acquisition adds specialised automotive consulting and implementation capabilities to the partnership.
