The Walt Disney Company has appointed Jennifer Creegan as Head of Marketing Technology and Operations, bringing the longtime Microsoft and Xbox executive into a newly created role focused on connecting technology, data and marketing across Disney's global businesses.
Creegan will join Disney on September 7 and report to Asad Ayaz, the company's Chief Marketing and Brand Officer. She will also become part of the leadership team within Disney's enterprise marketing organisation. The appointment forms part of the company's efforts to create a more connected marketing operation across its portfolio.
In her new role, Creegan will work across Disney's film and television, streaming, sports, parks and experiences, games and consumer products businesses. She will also collaborate with the company's technology and data teams, with a focus on improving access to audience insights, supporting faster decision-making and identifying opportunities to deepen fan engagement.
Creegan joins Disney following a 27-year career at Microsoft, where she held leadership positions spanning business strategy, marketing, advertising, product and operations. Most recently, she served as Vice President, Strategy, Business Model & Insights at Xbox.
At Xbox, Creegan worked across business strategy, product, content and monetisation as the gaming business evolved its approach towards players. Before moving into the Xbox role, she spent more than two decades with Microsoft Advertising and held senior responsibilities across its marketing and operations functions. Microsoft previously listed her as General Manager of Global Marketing and Operations for Microsoft Advertising.
Creegan has also worked across media, gaming and advertising platforms during her career, giving her experience at the intersection of consumer technology, marketing and digital operations.
Commenting on the appointment, Ayaz said Disney now has more ways than ever for consumers to experience its brands and stories. He highlighted Creegan's experience in bringing together technology, data and marketing as the company works towards delivering a more connected experience for fans globally.
The newly created position reflects Disney's broader effort to connect marketing capabilities across a business that spans multiple consumer touchpoints. Rather than operating within a single division, Creegan's mandate will extend across Disney's major businesses and involve coordination with its technology and data teams.
Her appointment also places marketing technology more directly within Disney's enterprise marketing leadership as the company looks to use data and technology to support marketing decisions and engagement across its global portfolio.
