HCLTech has launched an artificial intelligence-powered nano Global Capability Centre (GCC) offering built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), aimed at helping enterprises move AI projects beyond experimentation and into business operations.
Announced on October 28, the offering is part of HCLTech's GCC 360 solution suite and combines its GCC advisory services with AI platforms, including AI Force, and AWS cloud infrastructure and agentic AI technologies.
The model is designed to help organisations establish smaller, AI-focused operations without the scale and infrastructure requirements typically associated with traditional GCCs.
According to the company, the offering targets two categories of enterprises. The first includes organisations with established GCCs seeking to introduce AI-led transformation into existing operations without disrupting their current functions.
For these companies, HCLTech plans to use a hub-and-spoke operating structure anchored at its Lucknow campus, allowing businesses to develop AI capabilities alongside their existing delivery models.
The second category comprises mid-market enterprises without an established presence in India. These organisations can begin with smaller operations before deciding whether to expand their capabilities.
Unlike conventional GCC models, which generally involve broader operational responsibilities, the nano GCC approach uses compact, product-focused teams and AI-enabled workflows.
The offering covers AI-native software engineering, autonomous IT operations, advanced data analytics and intelligent business operations. Responsible AI governance is also incorporated into the proposed operating framework.
Under the arrangement, HCLTech will oversee the design and implementation of the operating model, while AWS will provide joint go-to-market support and access to services including Amazon Bedrock, Kiro and AWS Transform.
Kiran Cherukuri, Executive Vice President and Global GCC Practice Leader at HCLTech, said the role of GCCs was evolving from traditional cost and talent management towards developing enterprise AI capabilities.
Prabhakar Appana, Senior Vice President and Global Head of the AWS Ecosystem Business Unit at HCLTech, said the offering would allow organisations to begin with specific AI use cases, assess business outcomes and gradually expand their operations.
Amit Anshu, Head of GSI and IT Business at AWS India and South Asia, said the cloud provider's infrastructure, agentic AI services and development tools would support enterprises moving AI applications from pilot stages into production environments.
HCLTech said the Asia-Pacific region will be the first phase of the rollout. Delivery will be managed through its India-based operations, supported by the company's Centre of Excellence in Lucknow.
The launch expands HCLTech's GCC portfolio as enterprises assess smaller operating models for deploying AI capabilities. The company has not disclosed pricing, customer commitments or a timeline for expansion beyond the initial Asia-Pacific rollout.
