Bupa Capability Centre India has appointed Rakesh Chandhok as Head of Global Infrastructure and Internal Products, strengthening its technology leadership as the healthcare group expands the role of its India-based global capability centre.
In his new position, Chandhok will be responsible for global infrastructure and internal product functions, supporting Bupa's technology operations across markets. His remit will cover areas including infrastructure transformation, cloud platforms, workplace technology and the internal digital products used across the organisation.
Chandhok brings more than two decades of experience across technology infrastructure, cloud transformation, enterprise platforms and digital workplace services. Before joining Bupa Capability Centre India, he held senior technology leadership roles at organisations including Mastercard, American Express and IBM.
Most recently, Chandhok served at Mastercard, where his responsibilities included technology infrastructure and platforms. His professional experience has involved managing large-scale technology environments and transformation programmes for global enterprises.
The appointment comes as Bupa continues to develop its capability centre in India as part of its broader global technology and digital operations. Global capability centres have increasingly expanded beyond traditional support functions, with multinational organisations using their India operations for areas such as cloud engineering, cybersecurity, data, artificial intelligence, product development and enterprise technology.
Bupa Capability Centre India supports the wider Bupa Group, an international healthcare company operating across health insurance, healthcare provision and related services. Technology infrastructure forms a key part of those operations, particularly as healthcare organisations increase their reliance on cloud-based systems, digital customer experiences and data-driven services.
In his new role, Chandhok is expected to work across global teams and technology functions, with a focus on building infrastructure and internal products that can support Bupa's operations at scale. The role also brings infrastructure and internal product responsibilities under a senior technology leadership mandate.
The appointment adds to the continuing expansion of senior technology roles within India's GCC ecosystem. Companies across banking, healthcare, retail and other sectors are increasingly assigning global responsibilities to executives based at their Indian capability centres.
For Bupa, Chandhok's appointment places an experienced enterprise technology executive at the centre of its infrastructure and internal product strategy as the company continues to develop its technology capabilities across its international operations.
