The IT services company has signed an agreement to acquire a minority stake in the insurance-focused AI platform, with the transaction expected to close by October 31, 2026.
Wipro has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 20% stake in FLARRE.AI, Inc., an artificial intelligence platform focused on the insurance industry, as the IT services company seeks to strengthen its AI capabilities for global insurance clients.
The agreement was signed on October 15, 2026, through Wipro IT Services, LLC, a step-down subsidiary of Wipro. According to a regulatory filing submitted on October 16, the company will acquire the stake for a cash consideration of $2,000.
The transaction is expected to be completed by October 31, 2026, and does not require government or regulatory approval. Wipro also clarified that the acquisition is not a related-party transaction and that its promoters and group companies have no interest in FLARRE.AI.
The proposed investment is intended to enhance Wipro's AI capabilities in the global insurance sector, particularly as insurers explore automation across operational and technology workflows.
FLARRE.AI develops an agentic AI platform specifically designed for insurance companies. Its technology includes AI-powered software development lifecycle agents that support implementation and deployment across core insurance platforms.
These agents are designed to help insurers manage activities such as product launches, business expansions, system upgrades and technology migrations.
The company's Insurance Native Agentic Orchestration Platform combines an insurance knowledge graph with an Enterprise AI Control Plane. According to Wipro's disclosure, the technology is designed to integrate agentic intelligence into underwriting, claims processing and other workflows across the insurance value chain.
The platform is intended to support insurance operations teams by automating tasks and coordinating AI-driven processes within existing enterprise systems.
Unlike conventional AI assistants that primarily generate responses to user queries, agentic AI systems are designed to execute tasks and coordinate multiple steps within defined workflows. In insurance, these capabilities can be applied to activities involving data processing, claims management and software implementation.
The proposed acquisition comes as technology services companies expand their use of AI in industry-specific solutions, including financial services and insurance.
Wipro has been developing AI-led offerings across its enterprise services portfolio, with automation and AI-enabled engineering forming part of its broader technology strategy.
FLARRE.AI is a recently incorporated company. Consequently, financial information covering its turnover for the previous three financial years is not available, according to the regulatory filing.
The acquisition will give Wipro a minority shareholding in the company, although the disclosure does not specify any additional ownership rights or management arrangements.
The investment adds an insurance-focused agentic AI platform to Wipro's technology interests as the company continues to develop solutions for enterprise clients.
Further details regarding the commercial deployment of FLARRE.AI's technology through Wipro's insurance services have not been disclosed.
