The Industrial Intelligence Foundry will help companies deploy AI agents across engineering, manufacturing, quality management and industrial operations.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its Industrial Intelligence Foundry, an artificial intelligence offering designed to help industrial enterprises integrate AI into engineering and manufacturing operations. The company said the platform could improve manufacturing productivity by 20-25% and reduce new product introduction timelines by 25%.

Announced on October 15, 2026, the offering brings together configurable AI agents, industry-specific workflows and governance capabilities to support businesses moving from AI experimentation to large-scale implementation.

The Foundry is designed for industries including aerospace, mobility, semiconductors, medical devices, industrial electronics, utilities and energy. According to TCS, the offering provides preconfigured AI applications that can be integrated into existing enterprise systems, reducing the need for organisations to develop specialised AI agents independently.

The company said productivity improvements could exceed 40% as businesses strengthen their data infrastructure and operational ecosystems. However, these figures represent potential gains outlined by TCS rather than independently verified outcomes across customer deployments.

The platform covers several stages of the industrial lifecycle, including product design, engineering validation, documentation, manufacturing operations, asset management and quality assurance. It also incorporates monitoring and governance capabilities intended to support operational reliability and compliance requirements.

In manufacturing environments, the offering aims to improve production performance through AI-driven insights and workflow coordination. For engineering teams, it is designed to accelerate product development processes, while asset management applications focus on equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

The Foundry also includes workforce support capabilities through TCS' Human+AI Service Autonomy Model, which combines human decision-making with AI-assisted processes across engineering, manufacturing and field operations.

Sreenivasa Chakravarti, Global Head and Vice President of Industrial Autonomy and Engineering at TCS, said the next phase of industrial AI would depend on how effectively AI agents are coordinated across engineering systems, manufacturing facilities and asset-intensive operations.

The company said its approach combines industrial knowledge, engineering data, industry standards and operational requirements to develop context-aware AI applications. Its model-agnostic architecture is intended to allow enterprises to work across different AI ecosystems.

The launch follows TCS' broader investments in industrial automation and AI-enabled engineering. In September, the company introduced a lights-out factory laboratory in Pune to demonstrate the integration of AI, digital twins, robotics and factory control systems.

With the Industrial Intelligence Foundry, TCS is extending its industrial AI portfolio towards enterprise-wide deployment, focusing on manufacturing efficiency, engineering workflows and operational management.
