Abhay Singh Kumpawat, Chief Product & AI Officer, Scan4Health

Integrated diagnostics company Scan4Health has appointed Abhay Singh Kumpawat as its Chief Product & AI Officer (CPAO), creating a new leadership role as the company accelerates its ambitions to build an AI-first diagnostics platform for India. The appointment comes as healthcare providers increasingly invest in artificial intelligence to improve diagnostics, patient experience and operational efficiency.

In his new role, Kumpawat will lead the company's product, artificial intelligence and growth functions, with a mandate to develop a clinical intent-driven diagnostics platform powered by AI. The company said the newly created position reflects its strategy of integrating AI into core healthcare workflows while building digital experiences that serve both patients and clinicians.

An alumnus of IIT Roorkee, Kumpawat brings more than 15 years of experience spanning product management, engineering, artificial intelligence and growth. Throughout his career, he has worked in consumer technology and digital product leadership, combining data, behavioural insights and experimentation to develop products used by millions of people. His experience includes designing digital products focused on user behaviour and scalable technology adoption.

According to Scan4Health, Kumpawat's consumer-first product philosophy will now be applied to healthcare, with an emphasis on building AI-powered experiences that patients trust, clinicians can confidently adopt and healthcare systems can scale efficiently. The company said it aims to create technology that addresses meaningful healthcare challenges rather than focusing solely on digital adoption metrics.

The appointment reflects a broader trend across India's healthcare sector, where diagnostic providers are increasingly incorporating artificial intelligence into imaging, workflow automation, clinical decision support and patient engagement. AI is being positioned not only as a tool for improving operational efficiency but also for enhancing diagnostic accuracy and enabling more personalised patient care.

Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Gurugram, Scan4Health provides integrated diagnostic services including MRI, CT scans, PET/CT imaging, mammography, ultrasound, X-ray and pathology testing. The company has been expanding its technology-led healthcare offerings as it seeks to differentiate itself through digital innovation and AI-enabled diagnostic capabilities.

Healthcare organisations across India have stepped up investments in AI over the past few years as advances in machine learning and generative AI create new opportunities for diagnostics and patient management. Industry observers note that AI can assist clinicians by streamlining documentation, supporting image interpretation and improving workflow efficiency, although clinical oversight remains essential for healthcare decision-making.

For Scan4Health, the addition of a dedicated Chief Product & AI Officer signals the company's intent to place artificial intelligence at the centre of its product roadmap rather than treating it as a standalone capability. As healthcare providers continue adopting AI across clinical and operational functions, leadership appointments focused on AI strategy are becoming increasingly common, particularly among technology-driven health companies seeking to build scalable, patient-centric digital platforms.
