Tata Consultancy Services' AI infrastructure business HyperVault is set to develop a large-scale artificial intelligence data centre campus in Hyderabad, with HyperVault and its partners expected to invest up to ₹70,000 crore in the project.
HyperVault has secured 264 acres of land for the campus, which is planned to offer up to 1 gigawatt of capacity when fully developed. The project will be built in phases, with expansion linked to customer demand and evolving technology requirements.
The facility is being designed for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers that require large amounts of computing capacity for training and running artificial intelligence models. It will support high-density graphics processing unit deployments and advanced computing workloads, with infrastructure including liquid cooling and larger power blocks.
At full build-out, TCS expects the Hyderabad facility to rank among India's largest and most advanced AI infrastructure campuses. The project will also incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles.
The investment comes as technology companies globally expand computing infrastructure to support increasingly resource-intensive AI models. Training and deploying these systems requires large clusters of specialised chips, significant power capacity and cooling infrastructure, making AI-focused data centres an increasingly important part of the technology ecosystem.
TCS said the project could also generate demand across areas including power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering and data centre operations. The company expects the development to create several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region.
TCS CEO and Managing Director K Krithivasan said HyperVault is part of the company's "Infrastructure-to-Intelligence" strategy, bringing together AI-ready infrastructure with its cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities. He also pointed to Hyderabad's talent base, scale and technology ecosystem as factors supporting the development.
The project originated from discussions between Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2026, according to the Telangana government.
HyperVault was established as TCS expands beyond traditional technology services into AI infrastructure. In November 2025, TCS announced a strategic partnership with alternative asset manager TPG to support the business. TCS and TPG committed up to ₹18,000 crore over the following years to HyperVault, funded through a combination of equity and debt.
The Hyderabad campus represents a significant expansion of those plans, as TCS looks to build infrastructure capable of supporting the growing computing requirements of AI companies, hyperscalers and global enterprises.
