Protectt.ai Labs Private Limited has acquired a majority stake in AIShield, an artificial intelligence security platform originally incubated within Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW), as the cybersecurity company looks to expand its capabilities in securing enterprise AI systems.
The investment involves a combination of newly issued shares and the acquisition of existing shares from investors. Following the transaction, AIShield will operate as an independent entity under AIShield Private Limited (AISW), a Protectt.ai company.
The companies aim to combine Protectt.ai's expertise in mobile application security and its relationships with businesses in regulated sectors with AIShield's technology for securing artificial intelligence systems.
The financial value of the investment and the exact percentage of equity acquired were not disclosed.
The transaction comes as enterprises increasingly integrate AI into business processes, creating additional requirements for monitoring security risks, managing access to sensitive information and ensuring that AI applications operate within established governance frameworks.
Protectt.ai's existing operations focus on cybersecurity, including the protection of mobile applications used by organisations handling sensitive business and customer information. AIShield, meanwhile, brings specialised engineering capabilities focused on the security of AI technologies.
The companies intend to use the investment to support research and development, expand their international operations and develop security solutions for organisations deploying AI across business functions.
A central focus of the collaboration will be sovereign AI security, an approach intended to give organisations greater control over their AI systems, data and workloads.
This is particularly relevant for enterprises operating in regulated industries, where the adoption of AI technologies must be assessed alongside information security, operational risk and compliance requirements.
The proposed integration of capabilities is intended to help organisations address security concerns associated with deploying AI in business-critical environments. These include protecting information processed by AI systems and establishing appropriate oversight as companies increase their use of the technology.
For AIShield, the investment represents a transition from a platform developed within Bosch Global Software Technologies to an independently operating business backed by Protectt.ai.
The arrangement is expected to provide AIShield with access to Protectt.ai's existing enterprise relationships and market presence while allowing it to continue developing its specialised AI security offerings.
The companies also plan to pursue opportunities beyond India as demand for AI security and governance technologies develops across international markets.
The investment reflects Protectt.ai's strategy to broaden its cybersecurity portfolio beyond mobile application protection into security technologies designed for enterprise AI deployments.
Further details regarding the combined product roadmap, commercial rollout and international expansion plans have not been announced.
