LTM Launches BlueVerse Industrial AI Lab

IT services and consulting company LTM has launched its BlueVerse Industrial AI Lab in Chennai to support enterprises in developing, testing and deploying artificial intelligence solutions for industrial operations, manufacturing environments and intelligent products.

The facility is designed to bring together LTM's technology teams, enterprise clients and industry partners to develop and validate AI applications before they are introduced into operational environments.

According to the company, the lab will focus on addressing challenges associated with deploying AI in industrial facilities, particularly those operating with legacy equipment, limited connectivity and potentially hazardous working conditions.

The initiative comes as manufacturers increasingly explore AI-powered automation to improve production processes, equipment reliability, workplace safety and operational decision-making.

The BlueVerse Industrial AI Lab will combine LTM's existing industrial AI solutions, intellectual property and patented technologies with manufacturing-focused small language models. Its capabilities will include multispectral computer vision, edge computing devices, digital twins and industrial AI agents.

These technologies are intended to support industrial applications requiring real-time information processing, equipment monitoring and operational analysis.

Digital twins, which create virtual representations of physical equipment or processes, can help manufacturers simulate operational conditions and assess potential changes before implementing them in actual facilities.

The lab will also feature a dedicated robotics zone focused on autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robots and drones. These systems will be developed and tested for applications such as industrial inspection and material handling.

The company said the facility will support engineering and testing activities for consumer electronics and medical technology devices. This includes embedded software development, on-device AI, interoperability, reliability and performance testing, alongside applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

Commenting on the launch, Gururaj Deshpande, Chief Delivery Officer at LTM, said industrial AI could help businesses reduce time to market, improve operational availability, strengthen workplace safety and meet regulatory requirements.

The company has identified the transition from pilot projects to operational deployment as a significant challenge for industrial AI adoption. Industrial environments often require technologies to be adapted to specific equipment, infrastructure and safety conditions.

By providing a controlled testing environment, the Chennai facility is intended to help businesses evaluate the performance and suitability of AI applications before wider implementation.

LTM also said its industrial AI teams, domain specialists, technology partners and startup ecosystem have collectively scaled more than 100 industrial AI solutions worldwide.

The launch follows broader efforts by Indian technology services companies to expand their industrial AI offerings. In September, Tech Mahindra partnered with Infinite Uptime to introduce physical AI capabilities into manufacturing workflows.

LTM has not disclosed the investment made in the Chennai facility or announced specific commercial deployment targets for the lab.
