InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy have consolidated their businesses to create a pan-India insurance distribution platform with a premium book exceeding Rs 6,600 crore, as the companies look to combine artificial intelligence with a large network of insurance partners.
The merged business will operate under the InsuranceDekho brand and will be led by InsuranceDekho founder and CEO Ankit Agrawal. Founders from both companies will continue in key leadership roles and oversee strategy and business execution.
The companies described the combined entity as India's largest AI-enabled insurance distribution platform based on insurance premium generated through Point of Sales Persons, or POSPs, during FY26. POSPs are digitally enabled insurance partners who assist customers in purchasing policies.
As of March 31, 2026, the combined platform had more than six lakh digital partners and a presence across 98.57 per cent of India's pin codes. InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy have together facilitated the issuance of more than two crore insurance policies since inception.
The consolidation also brings together complementary regional networks. InsuranceDekho has a stronger distribution presence across northern and western India, while RenewBuy has an established footprint in southern markets, giving the combined business wider national coverage.
Technology will form a key part of the integration. InsuranceDekho's real-time insurance plan recommendation capabilities will be combined with RenewBuy's technology stack to support automated partner onboarding, digital policy issuance and AI-powered advisory tools.
The platform will operate as an open, multi-insurer ecosystem offering more than 750 insurance products from 52 insurers. Its portfolio spans motor, health, life, travel and commercial insurance.
The companies said the technology infrastructure is intended to provide insurance partners in smaller towns and villages with access to digital tools, products and operational support similar to those available in larger urban markets.
Agrawal said the immediate priority following the consolidation would be disciplined execution and seamless integration, while strengthening insurance access across smaller towns and villages.
RenewBuy CEO Balachander Sekhar said the combination would bring together technology capabilities and an on-ground partner network to provide insurance partners with digital tools and experiences.
The companies also plan to work with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India on financial inclusion initiatives. Over time, the combined technology and distribution infrastructure could be extended into broader financial and enterprise services, while keeping insurance at the centre of the business.
Financial terms of the consolidation were not disclosed.
